I would say start with safety vault then two handed.  Just do whatever your comfortable with.

Yeah  I second Brandon, if your just learning the vaults, you will probably want to start off with the safety vault. Also a lot of people find the lazy vault pretty easy and a good starting vault as well. Learn those two vaults and you can gradually build into the other vaults.

I like Tricking and Free Running, i don't think i actually do parkour, because i do it for fun and self expression, which would change the term to free running.

I learned this way.

1-Two hand
2-one hand
3-lazy vault
4-monkey
5-kong
6-cat
- many assorted parkour techniques at some point
Facing your fear isn't hard, you just have to be a man.

I say you should go safety, then two hand, then whatever you feel comfortable with. Remember to drill these techniques, as they'll be amazingly easy to do once your body's used to the motions.

(To be honest, I learned gate vault before anything first, but that's just because of my semi-unique location. Afterwards, I learned lazies and drilled.)

The ones i posted are all of the basic ones,
the safety vault looks like a Speed vault, but you put your outside foot on the ledge you are speed vaulting.

I suggest the speed vault. It is quick, easy and versatile. However, my first vault was the kong. But I think speed is the best first vault.

Safety, Lazy, or Two-hand. Those are the first official movements I started training. Make sure you spend enough time on each skill so that you won't get rusty while you move on to practicing the next--this is especially important if you're training more than one movement in a single session. You want to have a strong foundation in basic vaults in order to use them safely and effectively in a real-world situation.

Another important thing to consider is that you should be doing conditioning exercises such as squats, lunges and ankle rotations as a supplement to your training. You should generally spend at least 3/4 as much time on conditioning and strength training as you do practicing movements and techniques. But don't let that put you off; you can still spend a lot of time training. Conditioning also helps your technique, makes movements easier, safer, and develops more control over your musculature.

First vault is a vault, I don't know why people overlook it but getting used to your body going over objects without touching it would be an excellent starting point. My friend just started and I've been pushing him to vault a picnic table the long length. It's a good six feet, but it got him over his fear of injury. Of course nobody considers the vault a "vault" because it doesn't have a prefix.

On second thought, considering your size, I think it might be important to start with conditioning first. You're going to have a lot of trouble vaulting if you don't become agile enough before training.

There is no such thing as a no-handed vault.

Vault by definition: Leap or spring while supporting or propelling oneself with one or both hands or with the help of a pole.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense, how can someone - much less a beginner - jump over a picnic table longways without touching it?
Age is just another obstacle. Get over it.
