Day 24/Week 4 - 9/21/11:

Today I went to RPG, and I'll be going tomorrow as well. Tonight I started off with the regular class, but worked on mainly kong precisions. The second half (open gym) was spent working on trying to land 3 consecutive side flips on the tumble track, B-Twist, Kong precision to sideflip, and Aerial Twist. Overall good day of training. I feel I improved in everything I tried tonight.

Day 25/Week 4 - 9/22/11:
Today I went to RPG for the third time this week and mainly worked on the same stuff. This time, though, I worked on more diving/superman sideflips. I also practiced with a crew of guys for our performance at the Child and Baby Fair this Saturday at a local park. Can't wait. I ended the long night tonight with a sideflip over a wallish thing to a pretty tall drop.

Today was sooo hilariously epic.

Day 26/Week 4 - 9/23/11:

Today I went to SRHS with my friend who stopped doing parkour for a while. We were doing some simple stuff, and I was doing (not simple) side flips over a wall. After a little bit a janitor pulled up and asked us "Are you my freerunners?" and shorty after told us not to do parkour, so we left to go to the junior college. Which was the hilariously epic part.
From my facebook:

So, while some people are total downers about parkour and go out of their way to tell us to stop and fail to see the good parkour brings...Two cops at SRJC on the other hand, went out of their way to drive right up next to us and tell us how amazing they thing parkour is, and filmed me doing a flip with his iPhone. They told us to keep on doing what we're doing...Just not to hurt the flowers. Made my day.

These ended up being the same cops that, a while ago, filmed my instructor/friend Christian and my other friend Ben doing a tac to cat, and flip off the wall. He showed me the clip and I just started laughing because it was unbelievable.

PERFORMANCE TOMORROW

It's a good thing it's inspiring others for sure! I felt like I was on a plateau and I wasn't progressing any further, until I started 365. Now I'm pretty satisfied with my progression and it seem to be going very smoothly, although I may be doing side flips a little too much haha. I'm totally up for posting it on the page, I could use some feedback, so long as you don't feel like I'm cluttering it with the weekly videos. Thanks Jimmy! I hope I can meet and train with you soon.

Day 27/Week 4 - 9/24/11:

Today Zach, Brett, Christian, Zack, David, Nathan, Ryan and I all met up at the Rohnert Park Gymnastics booth at the Child and Baby fair at around 10. When we went in there, just 5 minutes before were supposed to go on, nobody was in the room. We all went outside, got 1 person each and told them about it, and then when it started it was a room full of people. At 10:35 we hit the stage, and at 10:45 began our performance. Despite having myself messing up a couple times, the performance was great, everyone did awesome, the crowd was pleased, and it went really well. After the performance, Zach, Nathan, Ryan and I hit the park outside the event center and trained/messed around for a while. Great day today.

You killed it son!  Good job.  How was that park?  It looked perfect when I scoped it earlier.

It seemed like it had a lot of potential, but we didn't really do much besides flips.

Day 28/Week 4 - 9/25/11:

Today I didn't do much. I just did some pull ups and a roll, but that ended up hurting my shoulder so I stopped after that. Tomorrow starts week 5.

Okayyy. Haven't updated this in a while. Been pretty sick, but I'm over it.

Day 29-31/Week 5 - 9/26 - 9/28:

Nothing these past two days, I was way exhausted and had no energy. I tried doing at least pull ups but quickly found out that wasn't going to work. Today however, 9/28 I feel back to normal and my energy is fine, today though, I just did some rolls and some pull ups. Tomorrow I'll probably go to the gym though, and if I do, I'll be sure to make the most out of it.

Day 32/Week 5 - 9/29/11:

Went to the gym and definitely made up for my time away from training. Because of my constant fear of back flips, that's what I worked on for the majority of open gym. I can do them consistently good into the pit, so I feel I'm ready to take it off a block onto a porta-pit. I also worked on the J-step and set/throw for corks, and progressed in those. At the end of open gym I set up for wall flips many times, and attempted one with 2 spotters. Luckily the spotters were there because apparently instead of a wall flip, it looked like I was trying to do a back hand spring off a wall from 5 feet up. I'm pretty much over the fear of back flips (at least into the pit). But definitely not wall flips.

I've decided I want to go with quality over quantity. After I post this next Week 4 video, I'm going to go with monthly videos. It will save me a lot of time, trouble, and I'll be able to edit it better. I also won't have to put as much time into training for filming.

Good call on the monthly vs. weekly vids.

We were both pretty awesomely bad at wall flips.  I nearly put Christian in a headlock.

Day 33-35/Week 4 - 9/30/11-10/2/11:

On Friday I went to SSU with my buddy Kevin and his friend for a bit, and worked on short runs, wall runs, and other parkour related things. I practiced a few websters off a 3 foot drop, just to see if I could get used to the tuck/untuck again, which I did. These last couple days, I've been working on rolls, trying to figure out a way to avoid my shoulder. The back of it seems to hit nicely on harder surfaces. I haven't figured out a way yet, but I feel like the answer lies within tucking in more. I also did more pull ups. Pretty inactive, but it was alright. I'm going to be hitting week 6 with a vengeance and I'll be doing backflips outside, into sand hopefully.

Film your rolls and post a short video here with clips of 2-3 different rolls (edited so that there is only a brief pause between rolls, don't make people watch a raw clip where we have to wait for you to set the camera down, then walk over, get ready, then roll) and show 1-2 of them in fast and slow motion.  Then you can get lots of feedback.  When you upload to youTube, you can make it the kind of video that you need the link to view.

Also, KEEP UP THE AWESOME!

Will do, I'll probably make it tomorrow.

Day 36/Week 5 - 10/3/11:

Yesterday rained...All day. I was going to go outside but I didn't feel like getting completely drenched. I ruled out the tucking possibility with my rolls, I think I may have to go more sideways. I also did quite a few pull ups.

Day 37/Week 5 - 10/4/11:

Today was awesome. I went to the gym and for the first hour worked on kong distance, pop vaults, and aerial twists. The remainder of the time I mainly spent doing backflips. I'm doing them super well into the pit, and almost got myself to try one off a block onto mats, but I can't seem to get past that fear yet. Although I didn't get one off the block, I definitely made a lot of progress with them.

In between backflips and when I had time, I was off doing other shenanigans like side flipping over blocks, trying 2 step side flips, and aerial twists off blocks. The aerial twists I just need to trust myself more, and I also need to complete my twist because I'm landing on my side.

In the last 10-15 minutes, I set up a block before the foam pit and did some move and I have no idea what the name of it is. I ran up and pushed off the block into a sideflip. Within those 10 minutes, I was able to take it out of the pit onto mats, and then on ground. They feel really easy to me and I want to take them outside.

Day 38/Week 5 - 10/5/11:

Yesterday was fun. I went to the library with Stephen and another friend. We started out with some precisions and running precisions, and those were actually the focus of the time I was there. First from some rocks to other rocks standing, and then farther by running, but that book to book running precision was still sitting there laughing at us. I forgot what we did, but we did an equally challenging precision, and then I pretty much just ran over there and did it. I feel accomplished about that, because I've been wanting that since the last time at the library. I was doing other random stuff here and there, websters, sideflips, dashing over the wall again. I felt I improved in precisions yesterday. Distance wise, at least. Overall good day.

Day 39/Week 5 - 10/6/11:

Yesterday I worked on handstands, rolls, and did more pull ups. My main focus was handstands, though. I need to work more on my balance in handstands than anything. Not too much to write about yesterday.

Day 40/Week 5 - 10/7/11:

Today was great. First footage of the month today. I first met up with Stephen at Santa Rosa High School. There were students and teachers still there though, so we decided to just move on to the JC. I got a bit of a warm up trying to keep up with Stephen on his bike and racing him. At first, I did some precisions and running precisions, and when we got to a wall by the parking garage, I practiced a few wallruns.

Then he took me over to a place that had a rock step up, a foot or so away from a small wooden fence, and had a sidewalk on the other side. I side flipped that, and felt pretty good about those. Then, we moved on to a challenging tic tac to cat. We spent the next 20 minutes or so trying to hit that, and with a few tries, we got it. That tac to cat I have been looking at since I've started training, and never got it. Very happy.

After the JC, I stopped by Howarth Park with a couple friends and mainly did a lot of precisions/running precisions. I also did a couple sideflips over a wooden hand rail thing. We soon get bored there, so I moved onto the rock wall area that has sand and a great step up for learning flips. At first I was just doing websters and sides, but then I tried some aerial twists. I'm pretty sure I was doing aerial twists for the first time (and landing them), but I may have just been doing a 180 front. It was too dark to record, so next time I'll know! Excited for the weekend.
