I just saw some new video by "Fort Minor" and there are plenty of parkour videos. they look familiar, maybe someone can point out who's in them?

They did a contest through myspace a little while back that called for amateur athletes to send in video clips to use in their video for "Remember the Name"

I'm still kicking myself for not entering  :)
Is any of it any good?

The video is alright, all of it, is free-running and tricking. but there are a few cat leaps and vaults in there.

Damn that shit was tight.  The free running stuff wasn't all that great though in my opinion there could have been better stuff put in there but oh well.  The tricking was good in the gyms.

Meh. :-\

Its almost a shame that we're being put into the vid with skateboarders, motorcyclists, and people who trick shoot baskets.  Maybe I'm alone in feeling this, but I seriously don't want to be associated with pop culture.

Doing a tic tac up a wall, climbing to the top, and someone stops and says "Yeah!  i saw that stuff on MTV.  You guys are pimp/down/phat/ etc."  bah.

In some ways you are right and wrong.  Parkour will not be associated with mainstream pop culture any more then martial arts ever are.  Sure people might say that they jumped off something but I doubt many people will be able to keep the discipline and fitness required to go anywhere.

I hope you're right.  I would love to have a lot of people understanding what parkour is for what it actually is.  It would certainly make most of our lives easier I think.

Btw, that is an excellent sig.

Wow, that was pretty sick. I loved the skateboarding basketball combo, but it was too bad there wasn't more Parkour. There was like...one clip with some parkour, but besides that it was mostly free running.

Aghhh that song is so overused. It was an OK song (for rap *shudder*) but every sports network plays it on commercials, sports movies use it, sports teams probably use it during training, now youtube sports videos use it....

I agree with Sat. People just don't have the discipline to keep themselves fit and determined. Freerunning might, since doing flips doesn't require as much strength as say a muscle up. But I'm pretty both will stay alive in only the determined.
