IU eat out in major cities all the time for way less than $80/head.  I'm in NY all the time and routinely get meals for 10-15 bucks...

I like the idea of aiming to do something new every week. It gives you little goals to shoot for and keeps things a little more interesting for you. But some of that advice is a little bit silly / not really considering the individual
