Attention Boulder/CU Traceurs
« on: December 31, 2006, 06:58:16 PM »
With the new school semester coming up parkour in Boulder/at CU will see change and new possibilities.

With the success of the weekly CU jams, we will once again be scheduling weekly jams. However, the day may change. I am open to suggestions as we all want to work out the best day/time to fit our new schedules for the semester. What day/time do people want for the weekly jam?

Also, I created a CU parkour club near the end of last semester. However, I was too busy to give much thought into developing it. This club will be open to all CU students and anyone else in Boulder who wants to be a part. With the club, we will be eligible for grants and resources from the university. But first, we have to decide what we want. So what do people want from this club? Weekly practice/workouts in the rec center? Money for equipment? A university sponsored demo at the UMC? The CU bboy club, which is identical to the way the parkour club has been set up, got $1000 last semester to put on a huge bboy comp at the UMC that attracted hundreds of people from CO and even out of state. Be creative and think big with your ideas, this club could really open up some cool possibilities!

So the main questions I want everyone from Boulder/CU to answer are:

1. What day/time do you want the weekly meet ups to be? Chances are the time of 3:30pm will stay but the day is open to change.

2. What do you want to see from the CU parkour club?

Hope to see a lot of discussion on this!

1) My vote is for the weekly meet to stay on Tuesdays simply because that is just one of the only days I won't be doing track, and is convenient for me.

2) If we were able to get grant money for obstacles and space-renting time this could be an extremely useful tool.  Also I would like to see us get involved with law enforcement (if for no other reason than to completely smoke their best times for the training course).

I may have other ideas and will post them some other time.

I have class from 2-6 on Tuesday/Thursday so that time is out of the question for me. Mon, wed, fri, sat, and sun, are all open though.

Fridays are better than most days, but I won't have perfect attendance.  I'll be there whenever I can (but I won't be there Feb 23rd).  Sorry for the lamo commitment, I'll be going out of town a few times in the next couple months.

That's too bad, you'll be missing out on the media company who's coming to meet and watch tomorrow.

Shit.  Oh well I've got to pick up a birthday present for my dad and step brother.
