Author Topic: Stratford/Bridgeport Jam! APRIL 2ND, 1:00PM. (Read 1228 times)

Alright, so here it is, the Stratford Jam. I know that there are a lot of traceurs/Tracueses in the area, but we are all hiding. Lately I have been getting calls from local Parkour enthusiasts. It's about time we stop hiding our wings and make ourselves known to each other, for certain we all have our own style and way of moving. We can all watch, learn, and act from each other.

I'm proposing a Jam. It will be held regardless of weather or the amount of people attending.

BY NO MEANS IS THIS JAM RESTRICTED TO ANYONE NOT IN THE STRATFORD/BRIDGEPORT AREA!

If you wish to attend and you live in New Haven, go for it. I just want to get a gathering so we can meet new people and get to know each other.

UPDATE
Okay, so I made a schedule of how this Jam might proceed.

1:00 - People start arriving.
1:20 - Start a group warm-up and getting to know each other.
1:35 - Begin training and playing around.
2:00 - Head down to Longbrook park and Jam a bit there.

If you guys want, we could head over to a close by diner and get something to eat there before longbrook or after.

Dude! I might actually be able to make this jam man!! So pumped!

I'll confirm with the parentals as soon as possible haha, as soon as I find out. As of now though I'm coming

Well, I feel a little dumb...lemme get back to you in a few days. I need to ask a friend here at school if I could bum a ride. Really hoping to, though.

Edit: I will be able to get down to the New Haven area, would someone be willing to pick me up from there? I'm looking at a train ride that'll get me to the New Haven Amtrak station around noon...which would put me in perfect timing to grab a bite to eat right before the jam. Any takers?

Double Edit: Upon further review, I realized that Amtrak can take me directly to Bridgeport...change of plans! The train will most likely arrive around 10:00am. My question still remains. Of course, I could always walk

I have convinced my mother to drive us there and that you are not a serial killer.
(She thinks everybody on the Internet is a serial killer. You're not a serial killer, right?)
Shay will probably be riding with me anyway, so why not?

But now I have a question. If we pick you up at around 10 when the train arrives, what will we do for three hours before the jam?

Metro-North goes to Stratford. It may be a roundabout way of getting there, but it is possible.

If you guys are early just say and I'll head over to the Library, we could go and chill at my house for the remaining time until the Jam starts.

Sweet dude, that would be awesome, and I can assure you that I'm not a serial killer. If I need to speak to your mother personally to convince her otherwise, I am willing. Sorry for the inconvenience about the train deal, but that's the latest arrival in the area before the late afternoon. I'm thinking we could grab a bite to eat, do some exploring of our own, or hang out at Jake's, whatever you guys feel like.

Yeah, that station is actually right next to the library. It is a pretty crappy route.

Jordan, give me the address of the train station or some landmarks near it so I know where to pick you up.
I really don't care what we do when we pick you up. I'll ask Shay today.

I've been to Bridgeport train station before, but don't remember exactly how to get there lol. I remember it's like 2 minutes from the exit tho haha. I know how to find my way arounf once I do get there

The BPT train station is easiest to get to from Downtown Bridgeport. Exit 27 off 95. Anyone that needs directions getting there, or even getting picked up, I can do. I'm usually down that way regularly, so I don't have a problem taking care of any of that. Granted, that three hour window between the train and the training is quite a bit of time. But whatev. We'll find something to do.
