fell 90+feet and survived
« on: February 20, 2011, 05:02:33 PM »
so today i am logging on to apk's site for the first time in like two weeks.   While training on Sunday the 6th on  a rooftop of abandoned factory I made a a small speed vault across this roof and landed it (there was no gap btw involved in jumping from roof to roof this was a basic vault i just wanted to try on this object) and as soon as i landed it the floor collapsed and i fell 90+ feet all the way to the ground while also hitting a beam and pipe of a catwalk.  Right now i have a broken shoulder, collarbone, 5 pelvic fractures, sacrum fracture. i broke 6 ribs total and lost one rib.  3 were put together with titanium plates, lost one rib completely. also lost part of my left lung.  i am sitting in the hospital as i type this.  I will be down for a few months and plan on stepping down to teaching and spreading parkours word to the world as of right now.  I have also rededicated my life to Christ, because i feel without him i would not be breathing right now whatsoever.

Glad you survived.  I'm sure your recovery will be long and painful, but I hope it is also complete.  Pretty crazy, thanks for posting this for us, it's a good reminder to everyone that no matter how careful we are, there are factors beyond our control.

Yikes, I hope you recover faster than the expected time, and even enough to do at least a little parkour in the future.

Wow, I don't even know what to say about this.
I'm just glad you have your life with you and everything will be better in the future. My mom had gotten into an accident a few years ago and broke several bones, had brain damage, and a lot of other shit messed up. Now she has no ACL and can still run (not like she used to obviously)... What I'm trying to say is, despite the long recovery time and pain you're enduring now, you can still live your life to the fullest and you can only get better now.
