The VA-Parkour Collection
« on: December 05, 2006, 09:24:20 PM »
Exactly what the title says. Since it's inception, VA-Parkour has put out just about a video every 3 months or so. Confirming that myself, Gear, Leon, and Skipper do indeed spend way more time showing people that we train then actually training.

Get a good laugh if anything :] Lest we forget where we started, and look at how much we've progressed! This is, more or less, in chronological order. I'm sure there are a couple videos missing, some outdoor / Old Rag mountain videos. Most of them up have a date which again, is more or less accurate! And for some reason youtube wouldn't take the very first [terribly awesome] all-in-nightshot video that I edited.

Gear's first video!
Jump VA 1
Richmond Jam
Where's Stix?
Jolly Jesse's July Jump VA Jam
PK Tag Teaser
DC Jam
Dark to Dawn
Running Free
Finally. Some. Nice. Weather.

After those comes STFU & Run and Timeless, and of course, Dispersion which are more recent and you can probably find somewhere. If there's interest, and no objection from Gear, I may post up his first video [I think I have the only copy of it in existence right now], as well as my very first video :]

Anyhow, just a little fun post looking back on things. Enjoy :]

Please pay no attention to any bad hair, rocket grabs, 360s, rolls-over-the-spine, Leon failing b-twists, Gear teaching Leon b-twists, me wearing Vans, faceplants, Gear losing at PDQ, Quetz cheating at PDQ =p, crappily compressed window movie maker videos, Leon not having sexy hair.... wait what? etc... etc... :]

Are the little kids in the first video mini-gears?

i found watching all of your progression very encouraging.
especially after watching the first one.  I feel like, "man, these guys were even worse than me once!"
the skate grabs tickled my humor. oh yes.

Yeah those are mini-gears :]
@Scott - Hehe, I had been inline skating for 5 years. I think I've strapped on my skates 3 times since I started doing parkour.

Ah ... memories.  Thanks for posting those up.  I had almost forgotten the days when everything I did was two handed vaults.  That first year was the best.  The ignorance was such bliss.

Oh, and syncro PK for the win!

I had to laugh at this after reading Gene's post about not making too many videos...I think that the last three years have been spent either making or thinking about making one video or another :p

Awesome stuff  8)

That's Slapshotz in Fredericksburg. You can definitely post my first video, though I wonder if you can handle the tic-tac to rail 360 that I throw in there :p

Just a few questions/comments on the gear first video.  How long had you been training at this point?  Also I laughed at all the little two handed vaults with the little twist. (laughed in a good/non-condescending way)

Hehe, I had been training maybe 3 months when I made that first video, if you don't count the down-time for landing on my head from that back flip right before PKUSA1.

Skipper, you pwn us now...what's the difference?  ::)  :-*

Well Gear, the difference is, that of these videos, there are only a few that were of you in the beginning.

Look up "parkour" now in a search engine, and tell me the difference.

And as for that bail skipper, I still have the footage...ok to put up?
