the first time I ever went for a webster I landed it... and I still have them really good. Easiest trick for me for sure.
Ryan Doyle's Webster Tutorial on youtube probably helped... I watched that and just went for em

instead of courage, just use a foam pit or a mattress you find in the garbage, or a pile of woodchips
and remebmer
"If you are afraid to fall, you fall because you are afraid"
~Daniel Ilabaca

i hope i quoted that right lol, if i didn't it was somewhere along those lines anyways, and the message is the same.
I like Tricking and Free Running, i don't think i actually do parkour, because i do it for fun and self expression, which would change the term to free running.

My my this is pree' old :O Haha :P
Yeah, that's pretty much the quote :P idk what it is about this trick, but I can't get it. At all. Like, I don't even begin to understand how in the world to do it. Even on trampoline. On spring floor. On tumble track. Into some foam padding... I just can't ? :/ lol

Maybe just try giving it some time. I did this with backflips, wall flips and dash vaults when I first learned them (I couldn't get the movement right for the life of me), and after a few months of not touching them, I went back to the progressions and drills, and I could land them perfectly.

That's what I did with front tucks :P Now I actually tuck tight xD
Buttt.
What are some progressions for a Webster!? I never knew any >_<

Woah, bro D: Don't feel ignored. I've seen the video plenty of times.

This time, however, I'm gonna work on all the steps instead of just thinking I do it all >_<

Thanks guys :) Wish me luck as I start this weekend :P

Good Progression for the webster would be learning the aerial, Helps you get down the swinging for that back leg, and helps you find good positioning for your leg that stays on the ground. They're alot easier then websters to, I still have a little trouble over rotating on websters, slammed my shoulder to the ground a few days ago.

But if you just bend your leg that stays on the ground a little, and kick off with the back leg hard enough, you can feel it stretch, JUST A LITTLE, you should be alright, I'm mustering up the courage to do one on the ground. I'll let you know how it goes. Good Luck! :D

Ouch, sorry about the shoulder :/

Please do tell me how it goes; good luck to you too ^-^

So, does anyone else think I should learn how to do an aerial first too, or...? :O

It's not going to hurt you, and it will definitely help with your swinging leg, but it's definitely not a necessary prerequisite. Also, (depending on your form for aerials), it may be teaching counter-productive muscle memory, since the rotations are different between the aerial and the webster. It's really up to you; ultimately it won't be bad, but it also might just be another trick to frustrate you ;)

lol In the end, I think all tricks will eventually frustrate me one time or another xP
I think I'll start with the aerial, because I don't know how to swing my like for a webster at all :/

By the way, first post, don't kill me  ;D

I was watching Ryan Doyle's webster tutorial and I noticed with his handsprings, he uses his front leg is the right "power leg" but when he does his webster the power leg is the one that swings and the front leg is the left.

I was trying this out in the gym yesterday and I can't wrap my mind around split stepping with my left leg in front, since almost all of my tricks are done with my right: right shoulder rolls, right leg in front for dives, right leg for power on a handspring, right sided cartwheel. Should I be working on getting my split step with my left foot in front? Or should I just convert to the right side? Thinking about it, (when) I start practicing side flips I'll probably be more comfortable turning to the right as well, since my cartwheels are on the right.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the advice in advance!  :D

Ultimately, it's up to whatever is most comfortable for you. Ideally, you would be able to use either leg comfortably, but since you're learning right now, let's focus on one leg first ;) If you are more comfortable with your right foot in front, then by all means, take what he says and apply it to the opposite leg.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you would be turning to the right for your sideflips/cartwheels, doesn't that mean that your left leg would be in the front for those?

Hmm, I guess I misphrased it. I meant I'm comfortable leaning to the right, so that would mean, I put the right hand down first on a cartwheel. The biggest question I have though, it seems that from what he says, the power leg is the one doing the swinging, and all that stuff. So if I put my right foot in front for a webster, that means my non power leg would be doing the swing back. I'm not sure if that's good, or if I should just stick with it and try to get comfortable, since my power (right) foot *SHOULD* be the one kicking or swinging.

Thanks for the advice!
