San Francisco International Jam - June 17-19, 2011
« on: January 03, 2011, 08:17:53 PM »
That right folks, its on!  West Siiiiiide!  SFPK wanted to up the ante this year after a fantastic CA+wide Jam last year and make this year's a National Jam.  SF Parkour will be hosting, with support from Parkour Connections, the Berkeley Parkour Collective and many more of the awesome local communities in the SF Bay Area.

Friday 6/17 will be a chill warmup day for people coming in early.
Main jams will be Saturday 6/18 and Sunday 6/19, with multiple spots in both San Francisco and Berkeley.  We will likely have a Ninja Warrior challenge as well.

Lots of info coming very soon, but its definitely on so start planning to come jam on the best coast!

Okay, everyone, here's the final schedule from SFPK:

Quote
After three and a half years of Monthly Jams, regional jams, and special events, SFPK and Parkour Connections are STOKED for our biggest event ever.  This will be the largest gathering of out-of-state traceurs and freerunners in California to date, and possibly the largest jam in California to date.

Here's the final schedule

Friday June 17
Everyone meet at The Parkour Loft, aka Albert & Justin's place.  1066 47th Ave, Oakland, CA 94601.  Google Map.

Please arrive between 10AM and 9PM.  Call Albert at (775) 557-8168 or Brett at (707 623 2812 when you arrive and we'll send someone out to let you in.  The loft is in an industrial neighborhood and there is a gate, so you must call Albert or Brett to get in.

Once people are situated, we'll send out small groups of people, via BART to different locations: UCB, downtown SF, wherever else you want to take folks!  We need locals to serve as guides for these small jams.  You'll need to show up at the location that day.

Saturday June 18
10AM Meet at Stonestown Galleria Mall in San Francisco
We'll meet in the parking lot at 19th and Buckingham: Google Map
From there we'll split into three groups.  One group will walk to CCSF, another to Sloat Elementary, and another to San Francisco State, all are in walking distance.

1PM - 3PM Eat food somewhere in SF, perhaps at the Stonestown Galleria Mall where your car is parked.

2PM - 6PM Head to the Bunkers!
The Bunkers, aka Battery Godfrey: Google Map

If you're taking the Bus, try these directions (Thanks Marisa!)

7PM - Midnight BBQ & DIY Carnival at CrossFit Marin
We're ending the day with the big party, thanks to CrossFit Marin for providing the location.  Google Map.

CrossFit Marin is located at 412 Tamal Plaza in Corte Madera, in Marin County.  Driving directions from the Bunkers are here. (Thanks again Marisa!)  Note that CrossFit Marin is in the back of the office park hidden behind the other buildings.  Look for people grilling, smiling and moving.

It's your job to make this BBQ & DIY Carnival awesome.  Bring your slackline, juggling materials, contact juggling ball, crystal, palm reading skills, unicycle, yoga session leading skills, friendly demeanor and everything else awesome that you possess.  We need you to make it memorable.  Teach your friends how to use a bo staff, or juggle, or ride unicorns, whatevs.   Feel free to crash at CrossFit Marin that night, providing space is available.

Sunday June 19
12 PM noon - whenever you can't move anymore or have to leave: UC Berkeley

We'll be at UCB all day.  Meet at the Doe Library at noon.  Google Map.

There's lots of food near campus.  Eat well.

We need your help.  We need you to give people rides, make yourself available to host people, show up on Friday at the loft, give out your number, help ensure we leave no trace, and just be friendly, awesome, and cool like YOU/WE always are.

So far we have confirmed guests from Los Angeles, Tijuana, Seattle, Denver, Fort Collins, Washington D.C. and more!

If there are any medical or public safety emergencies, call 911.

If there are serious problems of any other kind during the events call one of the following:

Brett Robert (Beretta) (707) 623 2812

Ryan Fulmer (AeroSFCity) (510) 214-3569

Albert Kong (lethalbeef) (775) 557-8168

I like how I first read it as (B)East Coast... Which made me think, SF is not on the East Coast... So I read it again.

Lol!

Christian & Max... that would be epicness!  I hope as many folks as possible make it out for this!

EDIT:
Yo, I made a Facecrack event for this: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=183891774963762&notif_t=event_wall#!/

Don't worry, we'll post all necessary info here, but you can use FB to meet people, which might help with rides, hosting, etc. as the time draws near... though it's oh so long before that happens...

Mark, you'll notice that the event is less infringefully (or is it infringulously?  I always forget ;)) named!

What a day that'd be.
I would try and travel there from Colorado but I'm pretty much financially challenged now.
Hopefully I get this job soon, then I'll have a better chance to head out that way.
Who wants to give me a ride  ;D
