Day 24/week4

Jan 24th 2011. Today I stayed after school with my girlfriend Christine, to run a mile and a half with some good stretching. We followed this up with “The Hill”. The hill is this super steep pretty high hill on our school’s campus that is a real pain to run up; the run its some GREAT cardio and leg work out though. I put together a video for the TVHS parkour kids today, some stuff was filmed with my new GOPro head cam, check it out on Temecula Parkour’s face book page.

Day 25/Week4

Jan 25th 2011    I stayed afterschool again with Christine to run a mile and run the hill, its great cardio for the both of us. With track and field season just around the corner, it’s probably a good idea to start working out like this again. When I got home is did some bare crawls, back yard precision jumps…
30 pushups
20 chin ups
20 pull ups
and 60 lower abb lift things.

I know none of those stats are a very big number, im just trying to keep up the training.

My back is feeling way better, Im starting to plan what I want to learn (parkour and free running wise) next month. Ill post that on the last day of January.

Day26/Week 4

Jan 26th 2011 Parkour with the TVHS parkour club, we whent down to Ronald Regan Sports Park and did some hiking and rural parkour. I whent back to a wall run I haven’t tried in a few years, I can do it easily now, I was pretty happy about that. Later I whent to teach my Parkour Class at DG Gymnastics (6-8pm) that whent pretty well, We had 4 new students today bringing out class up to 12 kids (the average class is 6) so it’s doing really well. We worked on double Kong combos, and a lot of bar work. Some kids learned fly away; some began to learn bar losers. We finished off the day with a 15 mint rapid fire conditioning bust and out final four pushups.

Week 4 video here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhHUP9m1GJ4

 Day 28/ Week 4

Jan 28th 2011    Had a parkour session with the Temecula Valley High School Parkour Club today. Along with lots of rail and wall movements, I found myself getting back into hand stands; I couldn’t do them for a while because it put strain on my back. (I now have a non-back stressing form for a hand stand) we then whent to these low walls and the gang was working on Kong pop-vaults, the wall we were trying them on was pretty tall, so congats to the new kids who were even attempting the vault, much less getting it!

~Note to anyone who saw me fall on the wall today while trying a pop-vault palm spin, Rolls are a Traceurs best friend. If I hadn’t rolled, I could have gotten hurt. So when we practice rolls, its for your (and my) own good.

Stay safe

[365/52 project modification, I’ll be making my videos once every month now, instead of once a week. Once a week simply took up way too much of my time editing on the computer]

Day 31/Week5

Jan 31 2011    stayed home to work out again, I want to be completely healed before I go out to do any more high impact stuff. I was going to warm up by bare crawling around my pool again, but as soon as I started crawling my dogs got all excited and bombarded me. One of them had a ball in her mouth just begging me to play fetch, only you have to chase her down to get the ball again. This turned out to be a Great warm up ^^.  After that I wanted to work on some hand stands, which I sort of lost since my back got hurt.  Then I hit the weights again.

60 incline bench press lifts – 6set, 10 rep
180 sitting leg lift things..(?) – 6 sets of 30 (60 lbs.)
And some muscle ups just for form.

(going to do my abb workout in an hour)
………………………………………………………………………….
Goals for February

*do a back flip every day on flat ground.
*get back all the moves I may have lost with the back injury
-gainer, back 360, hand stands,
*smooth out kinks with All flips
-front, back, side, tunnel, cork screw, all 360’s [all from flat and from a height]

*learn one new move!

Day 32 / Week 5

Feb 1st 2011    I feel great, im glad I’ve used the last five days to rest. Today I ran a lap around my neighborhood to warm up, with my bare crawls and stretching. On my jog I did some easy free stepping and minor precision jumps. Then I hit the weights. I added some more weight to everything to start the new month, not too much more though.

Incline Bench Press 5 sets of ten
Leg lift things 5 sets of ten
cafe raises 4 sets of 10
and abb work outs

Tomorrow I get back into literal parkour training.

Day 33/week 5

Feb 2nd 2011  TVHS parkour club today after school, we whent down to Ronald Regan sports park by our school. We jumped around and stretched for the warm up followed with some basic to moderate vaults over a small fence thing. Then we all worked on side flips, some first year kids almost have the more down!  Then we moved to this secret location that we “shouldn’t” be in, but hay, were good kids. The location is a PK Hot spot, its soooo good!!   I did my fav Kong precision and soon to be doubly Kong. Ill load a pic of the location soon enough.

I Still have DC gym to go to tonight. That will be another 2 hours of parkour today.

# of Back flips today – 2 one standing, one off a storage unit.

Day 35 week 5
Feb 4th 2011  Parkour with the TVHS parkour club was really fun today. We whent to the secret location and worked on stealth, along with anything else in the area. That location has loads of different things to try for all skill levels. I love that spot. Later at 6 I whent to Dc Gym for open night, it whent till 10pm! I got a lot done. Got gainers, wall fronts, wall sides, tumbling, palm flips, and hand stands all back up to par. And worked on just about everything else I could think of. It was a GREAT training day. I used a good portion of my time at gym teaching others, that’s always a plus ^^

# of back flips today, 16. 6 standing, 7 gainers, 1 360 back out of a front flip round off.

Day 37/Week 5

Feb 6th 2011. Bryan, Terry, Erick, and I whent to Warm Springs middle school today for parkour. We had a blast, they had never been there before, and that school has a lot of different obstacles for all skill levels. I finally did this kong to precision. And I did this really nice wall run up the first story of a school portable, but the best thing was, after I got the wall run, Terry Bryan and Erick all also got the wall climb! It was awesome, our team is getting so much better. We did a lot of parkour courses too.

after we whent to Chap High school, we dident stay for too long but we did a lot of rail work.
I feel like I got a lot better from today.

~Good job guys!

im pretty excited for Track and Field season to start up on Monday. Sad it may take up some of my parkour time though, however, high jump and the work outs we do is GREAT for parkour, Its builds strength like crazy. Plus it gives me time to rest everything.

Day 40/week 5

Feb 9th 2011 2:30 – 4pm I was with the TVHS parkour team, we whent over to Linfield and used their Log course, it was fun. I worked on flow, and did some small kong precisions. I also did some good precision jumps, that’s always handy to work on. I have a big weekend so I tried to not to any flips… except for my back flips.  Them from 6pm-8pm I had my Parkour class at DC Gymnastics, we had 4 new kids today bringing out class up to 16 kids!!  That’s a lot. We pounded in front flips, precisions, flow, and got some good cardio when we all played tag! The kids enjoyed that haha, I did too.

Day 41/Week 5

Feb 10th 2011 22 month anniversary with my girlfriend Christine. Today I was very busy, and had already decided to use today to recover. So while I was waiting for my little sisters school to get out (because I pick her up from school) I did some parkour at the pool area accost the field. Some lady asked me to leave the pool area so I found a stray fence and did basic vaults with some bare crawls for balance. The whole session was about 20 mins long

Day 42/Week5

Feb 11th 2011 today I did parkour with the parkour club down at area behind home Depot down the street from our school. I found a lot of new movements are some new areas that I had never seen before. And the team is getting a lot better. Today we were doing some higher level skills like multi step tick tacks to cats. I Finlay did this kong precision today that I had been looking at for a while now. I was pretty happy about it. Later tonight Im doing down to DC to help train some new kids form up north.
