Leave no Trace Idaho
« on: October 12, 2010, 08:00:06 PM »
Hello Idaho!
I am organizing a leave no trace clean up event tentative for November 6th.
location is not set in stone but will probably be downtown Boise center on the grove.
I would love to see and get all the tracers in the area out to participate and have some fun.
So... i'd like to hear some feedback from you guys to know if you'll be able to come, and if not what a better day might be for you?
it will be a well organized afternoon of service and some parkour (of course)
Thanks,
let me Know as soon as possible.

Count me in! I think this is great! Will be fun to train and help out the community :)

As far as times go, most Saturday's and Sunday evenings work good for me.

I hope everyone on here will be able to attend!

Send me information at dale@americanparkour.com I will try and get a thing up on the calendar and on the front page before and then another thing after.  So get pictures and etc.  I can not say for sure on the front page, but the pictures will go up on the American Parkour Facebook.  Also be sure to post the bags and other information in the leave no trace tracker after the event.

the time i was thinking of was around 1:00 in the afternoon. but if latter is better for more people we'll move it back.
I'm excited to see people saying they will come.
if you got friends of yours that are going to come post that up so i can get a general head count on how many to expect.
thanks for the support guys.
I'll be back real soon to post more information as it comes in.

1pm works good for me! I'm should be free all day so later also works.  I sent a message to my team trying to get them to post on here for the head count, we will see if they actually follow through :P

Looking forward to more details and eventually the event!

Did you email Dale, Tom?

Also unless someone has a better camera, I will offer to take pictures and put together a little video of the event.  I just have a digital camera that takes decent video and some good video editing software, but if someone has a real video camera and is willing to help that would be preferred.  No matter what I definitely think the first Leave No Trace Idaho should be documented :)

by the 6th i should have a pretty nice digicam that's supposed to shoot HD video, as a replacement for my now broken Kodak. if it ships by then, i'll be bringing it along...

maybe everyone should bring a camera if they can, and we spread out in little groups-each with its own camera-to run our way around and pick up as much trash in as big an area as possible? we'd have to decide on certain blocks and areas to cover ahead of time, but i think that'd be pretty efficient and would make for the best pics.

anyone, some feedback?

That sounds like a great idea, but I think it really depends on how many people come :P Since it is going to be our first Leave No Trace we may just want to stick together and figure what we can do for future events

whichever way it rolls, i'm down.

i've been talking to a few kids in my area, and some of them are pretty interested in everything that we've got going here. we might have a half-decent turnout.  :)

Yes! this is great guys! so right now if think it's a defiant 1:00. right now i'm working on asking the city council if there is a specific area of need in downtown Boise we can help out with. otherwise we will just start right in the middle. the more defiant numbers i have the more i can plan a large group oriented  schedule. as far as video and pictures being taken if you mentioned you have one you want to bring that would be awesome. i may also be able to get a few film kids come out and document it all (only a possibility) we'll see. but anyone bringing cameras is a great idea.
Thanks, i'll be back very soon with more information.

Head's up guys, I believe the BSU game on Saturday starts around noon, so downtown is going to be a little crowded, may want to consider getting there a little early.

on the sunny side of the egg, there's gonna be TONS more trash lining the streets, so we will DEFINITELY not have to search to fill a garbage bag. :P
