Happy Holidays all!!! My name is Ryan F. (traveling traceur)...I've been training with HIPK (hawaii parkour) since June 2009 and I'm smitten with pk, just feels right. Anyway, I'm introducing myself to INPK cause I'm planning on doing a set of mini documentaries on various communities across US/World. I'm psychology major graduating May 2010, and my focus is Community/cross-cultural psychology...and I'm pretty burnt out from undergrad/work/doing research/ other misc. crap. So I've been saving up over the past two years for a 1-2year break to just travel and unwind. Basically since I've started to train PK, I've had questions burning in my head concerning pk and people who do it.
Some questions include....
How communities at large are similar, different, how they've grown, their differing ideas of what parkour is...the lifestyle of traceurs across America. Uses each particular community has for parkour, like for education, as a source of income, a way to get in shape, a recreational activity, a dedicated way of life....Demographics, histories, injury logs(injuries directly related to parkour, prevalence of long term joint and whatever else damage associated with parkour)... and whatever else peaks my interest.
And I'd like to answer these questions to the best of my ability by going to various communities and fleshing out the gritty details I'm sure I'd miss if all I did was post on forum and ask. anyway, that's my hello. i'll be posting soon in more detail on my plans.
