i suggest thinking of it as a large single kong, but just tap the first object with your hands, then hopefully you will be able to tweak it and figure it out from there

Also, you can think of it as a Kong - Handstand
if you try a kong - handstand, you will probably be able to understand the motion of a double kong easier
I like Tricking and Free Running, i don't think i actually do parkour, because i do it for fun and self expression, which would change the term to free running.

Kong-handstand? I'll have to try that in the gym.

My diving kong isn't very far at all, maybe 4 feet tops. But one day I just wanted to try a double! So I ran at my lengthwise picnic table and tried it. Just pushed as hard as I could off the front of it while jumping, dove (while spotting where I wanted my hands to land), and planted. I didn't clear the table, but it was easy enough to bring my feet under me and land on my feet/knees. Doesn't hurt at all to fail and even if you clip the end (which I have) you just land on your hands onto the ground. Doesn't hurt so long as it's soft. As far as progression, I'd say just try it in as small gaps between both of your hand planting spots and just try to increase it each time. Other than that, you just gotta go for it!
Any traceurs or freerunners who live in or near Jackson, MI?
Let's jam!

the first kong is to raise your hips above your head level, you can extend mid air for a full extension netting you a greater distance covered.  but mostly it's about the first kong bring your hips high.  the second is very similar to a long diving kong since you'll be bringing your hips back down to land from a big dive.  its nice to just set it up in a gymnastics gym and experiment there in a pretty safe environment.  you'll need to provide specifically what you are having trouble with for further advice though.  what weren't you able to do in the gym?  crashing after the second plant? not getting the distance?

I actually just learned a double kong on sunday. I've always been scared of the move and thought I was going to end up hurting myself trying I. The way I learned it was by jogging up to a table and doing a kong on it and ending up landing on my butt. I kept doing that and got farther and farther each time until I tried a full out sprint. My advice is to do the same thing..

ok, didnt read anyone elses posts, but heres oh i done it...

get a picnic table. short side, not long. kong up ontop of it, and kong off. do that. then go up for a single kong, but slap the picnic table AGAIN. so you just done the shortest double kong in history. progress from there :D

I've also never broke it down like that. I film and post later.
