Around the area where i live, there are two kids who do claim that they do parkour. but they do it for the title of being a "ninja" and stuff. i asked them about it one time and i got into a conversation with them about it. all they could tell me was how good they are and how many people they have taught parkour to. they have been going for about a year and i haven't seen one kong out of them. and now all of the 12-14 year old kids are running around thinking they can do parkour because those two kids told them about it. i'm not saying they can't do parkour, but they just dont know anything about what they're doing, or even how to do it. since then, i have invited many of them to a parkour class that i attend, and often teach. the one time they came, (only about 4-5, but thats still a good number) i was teaching, and we had an entire class about parkour philosophy (2 1/2 hours) and afterwards i went over all of the basics with them. they all told me that it was the best parkour experience they have ever had. i felt happy. i guess more people just need this.
