We've all at least once or twice been really fed up with security guards.

It's totally possible to have a parkour battle. Come on, remember the final action scene in district b13? Total parkour battle right there.  ;)
It's not about showing off. It's about movement and passion and freedom. It's about giving yourself the ability to reach farther and higher, to go anywhere you please. It's about living without boundaries.

Question:

As a security guard, do you have any hints/tips as to what the building owners would require to allow training on the spot?

It's occurred to me but I've never had a conflict where it's been necessary.

It will be different with every building owner. some it might just require a bit of sweet talk on the first meeting and a healthy dose of respect for the property. others will be completely against anything like that for instance the site i was at that day was an insurance company so they're paranoid about insurance and lawsuits so they'd never agree to it. perhaps asking in advance would work with some people. mostly though just go on a case by case basis. and always be pleasant to deal with. don't give them any reason to say no.

there are way to many people that think parkour is just a physical sport and thats it. :(

Parkour battle? lol! that's cute. Gotta love kids.

Well, I am kinda offended that this kid would represent young pk runners in such a manner. Me, being only 16, I do my best to be respectful. I explain my purpose, and generally, people are extremely leaniant about the situation. I'm not sure why this kid threw a hissy fit as if he was in pre-k again. Honestly, I would die for a security guard to offer to train with me. All the ones I meet aren't willing to try, which is ashame. They seem a little more apt to after I tell them it's not about what you can and can't do, it's about getting together and having fun. Seems people forgot what pk was meant for :(

Regardless, I am rambling because this kid angered me lol. The best "battle" method I can think of is a good ol' game of H.O.R.S.E. Other than that, I've never thought about it. Sounds like someone wants an epic chuck norris fight scene though :D

Parkour Battling-
When to parkourist find a place to go parkouring and they bring melee weapons. Using their ninja parkourist skillz, the opponents fight to either first contact/blood or in some countries, to the death.
WARNING: Do not parkour battle with Dan Kelley (He uses a sword) or Kyle Rudolph (He hides chainsaws in his calves).
Shut up and Train

parkour BATTLE? yeah right!
wats next on the list? parkour wars ??

sheesh....really sad that the kids nowadays are beginning to learn parkour, first for fun and as soon as they've got some moves right, they're on the roads challenging the others and trying to show themselves off.
I mean, challenging each others as a traceur is fine....that helps you get over your initial fear....but challenging as in a 'duel' or for competitive advantage is real sad.

I've been training for around a year now, and some people have caught on to what I was doing. A group of kids a year younger than me started training parkour. They told me what they were doing, and I said congratulations. the next week they said "you and your friend verse us in Parkour Challenge." they posted a video on facebook saying that they want to see me and my friend do better. Anyway, I responded with a good parkour documentary I found on youtube and told them to watch it. I don't think they ever did.

Even though no one has to prove themselves to anyone, ever, especially not posers. It's always fun to show up asshats

Props are showing them respect and etc.  Most traceurs become silver tongued and can talk their way into training places.  But punks are punks so treat them as such.

Around the area where i live, there are two kids who do claim that they do parkour.  but they do it for the title of being a "ninja" and stuff.  i asked them about it one time and i got into a conversation with them about it.  all they could tell me was how good they are and how many people they have taught parkour to.  they have been going for about a year and i haven't seen one kong out of them.  and now all of the 12-14 year old kids are running around thinking they can do parkour because those two kids told them about it.  i'm not saying they can't do parkour, but they just dont know anything about what they're doing, or even how to do it.  since then, i have invited many of them to a parkour class that i attend, and often teach.  the one time they came, (only about 4-5, but thats still a good number) i was teaching, and we had an entire class about parkour philosophy (2 1/2 hours) and afterwards i went over all of the basics with them.  they all told me that it was the best parkour experience they have ever had.  i felt happy.  i guess more people just need this.

have a nice day

i wish you could get that through the heads of the homos that think they can do it at my school... :'(

For some reason, I can't help but think that this guy watched one too many episodes of the matrix where they're doing crazy, unnecessary parkour with superhuman powers to "dodge" bullets, then all the crazy things neo does.

I'm pretty sure pepper spray beats "parkour battling" though  ;D
