Officially?  When I learned that the crazy sh*t I love to do is Parkour!

Unofficially? When I discovered that I could run and jump and climb and do other crazy sh*t as a small child!!!

I wanted to find new ways to utilize my classical ballet training that I have had since I was 2. After some strategically worded Google searches I found a video collage of David Bella on the Dam Du Lac. Having always loved obstacle courses I began researching this athletic movement that is parkour/freerunning. And now here I am.

Keeps me in shape, much different then just exercising. Gives me something to work towards, instead of wasting my life away on other things.

I started getting interested in parkour a few years back, after I saw some videos of people doing it. As a kid I'd always loved to jump around and run and stuff, so this hearkened back to my childhood. Also, the entire concept of it -is- awesome, and I'm working on getting more fit so I can work on my parour a little more. A win-win situation, either way!

My best friend in Vancouver did it for a couple years, and I thought it was cool when I saw some videos he showed me... A couple years later, a friend I made in summer school knew what it was, we both talked bout how cool it was, den realised we can start together. First day, all we did was rolls and try two-hand vaults.. I was hooked after my first "good" (not actually good, but the best we had done at the time xD) roll.
:D
I have now been training for a year. Plan on teaching my future children this
:D
Like Water shall we flow,
Like Wind shall we move,
Like Fire do we burn to run.

this was a PM I got on youtube, I thought my fellow traceurs would like to see it.    anyone new?, this would be good to read.

“”this is the first time that I’ve heard of this art/sport but I’ve seen similar moves in some films. i like ur vids and the music so keep it up! just one more thing though shouldn't u be wearing some protective gears or is that a no-no in freerunning? oh another thing more could u sub me too? Tnx””

Thanks a lot for the interest in Temecula Parkour’s channel
Well, as far as protective gear, the kinds of shoes i have are VERY padded (the Ariakes by K-Swiss) and have lots of grip.   But more important, is how much we practice. Not only do we train for the movements of Parkour, but just as well the strength that our sport demands.  That commitment to safety on the mental preparation level is the most important thing in approaching Parkour.
-insert something insperational here-

Temecula Parkour + youtube = goodtime

Mine is kinda stupid :P When I was younger I was obsessed with this idea of being a modern ninja. I loved the idea of sneaking around, being able to go anywhere undetected and do things most people aren't capable of. Parkour lets me take that initial philosophy of being something more and apply it in a kick ass, challenging and fun way
Never forget that even though you can jump, vault, flip, or hurdle an obstacle, you can still just walk around it.

i actualy found out about it when whatching Man vs Wild and Worst case Senario with Bear Grylls. I was imidiately interested and looked it up on youtube, (after watching the rest of the show of course) but i found myself on APK.com and made my self an account right away. the next day i watched so many videos on youtube and then went outside to try.

37 you enlarged my path under me; so my feet did not slip.

As a little kid i always enjoyed running around, jumping over stuff, and obstical(sp) courses. I discovered parkour/free running about Mid July. I decided to try it out. I did get a couple friends to do it, but no one really committed besides me. So they dropped it. and now i "train" by myself. :)
