Dash Vault
« on: November 28, 2005, 06:34:37 PM »
A vault in which a person jumps off of one foot, passes over the obstacle feet first, pushes off the obstacle with both hands, and then lands.

Why yes, what do you need?
That sounds pretty dangerous.

Perhaps you should read the purpose of what this board is for. He's not asking for help with the movement, he's adding to the list of movements in this board. Also, this thread is over 5 years old; there is no need to bring it back up.

My good friends, this was a joke, my name is Dashiell Kieler, or Dash.  I realize the point of this board, and I forced myself past my natural inclination to not take part in thread necromancy.  I also know that Ryan, of all people, would not need help.  I'm disappointed that I needed to explain myself, but lets not allow this to get in the way of our friendship. ;)
In a way this is the only vault I have ever done, though ironically I have only done the actual vault once (with pads, so not legitimately) , which brings us back on topic, why is it called a dash vault?

Not entirely positive on this one, but I'm pretty sure it's called that because of the way you exit the vault. You run into it, lead with your feet, and as you push off with your hands, your legs come down mid-stride, so that it looks like you dashed over the obstacle.

My thoughts were that mid-vault your body is horizontal, like a dash symbol (-).  I think your reason is more accurate though. [British accent] Of course it could be called such because you look down right dashing while doing it. [/British accent]
