I've been told the contents of this have been very secretive though it is likely going to be used to censor a LOT of content on the internet. Not only that but it has violations of the constitution (the 4th, because it will make it so any company that "thinks" you might be illegally downloading their stuff they can demand a log of all your internet activity without warrant or even probably cause for that matter).

I'm against it because I haven't heard anything positive and from what I know, it sounds like the government is just trying to control what we get to see on the internet (which is ALSO against the constitution).

If you oppose I've come into contact with a handy little link to bomb the search of "ACTA unconstitutional" on yahoo, bing, and google 3 times each with a refresh rate of once per 1 or 2 seconds.

Turns out an iPod completely full of pirated music is the most valuable item in the world. Food for thought. (IE, you'd get a lifetime jail sentence

I figured no one would like it...

I had 4 tabs of the bombing site up all day... apparently so many people were doing it that we shut down Yahoo's search server as it was out for a few hours (dunno if it still is). I shall do the same tomorrow. If you type "a" on yahoo or bing it's the first thing. Google seems reluctant to bring it to the top (I wonder why?)

I remember reading a historical fiction novel a while back about an Arabian area in ancient, biblical times. In it, the technique for writing and alphabets was being developed and the head priest and scholar feared it because it would enable information and knowledge to spread without hindrance, beyond control. He worried that without some kind of authority to oversee the retention and production of information that it cause a collapse of society.

Now instead of worrying about societal collapse, we have people (companies) worrying about losing money/influence. Hmmmm...
