any of us can go to a local gym at least once a week. i dont see why you would want to drive to denver or why we would want to drive to co springs or boulder or wherever to go to a gym. gym jams are cool for local people if they want to go but i tihnk it is better to keep the big jams for outside places that you may not be able to go to whenever you want.

Yeah provin, we'll probably be scheduling a gym jam for springers here sometime at the beginning or end of winter break.  That idea has been floating around in the springs for quite some time and I think it will be a great way to get all the new folks in with all the veterans.  We'll likely have something like this at Art Sports, if you've never been there, its a great gym with plenty of stuff to work with and it only costs $5 for entry, they just relocated to a bigger building near "Champions".  I'll start spreading the word and seeing how everyone's schedule clicks.

When Christmas break comes I'd love to go to art sports.  I don't know about the rest of you, but i need to get in some practise on the mats.

LOL, yeah I was wondering what you were talking about :)  That is confusing huh?

Oh well, Josh, there's no use holding it off from here any longer, I checked with everyone already.  This coming Saturday once break begins, were gonna have our big kickoff jam (Dejavu  ::)) I'll post the details out in the jams page, but we'll be starting the day off at Art Sports, and from there we can take it out onto the streets, likely out into the downtown area which is nearby.

That sounds great, I just found out that I have to help tear down the boy scout tree lot, I know boy scouts = lame, not my choice.  But I should be done around 11 so I'll probably be a bit late.   :(

I just went to the artsports web site and their only open gym is on saturdays from 12:30 to 1:45, it is 5 dollars for members, 7 dollars for guests.  It's not a lot of time, but I bet we can still make it work. ;)

yeah thats not a very good deal. when we used to go to ASG in aurora, we got 2+ hrs. for 5 bucks. it should have been 10 bucks but matt worked there so he hooked us up...

the other gyms we go to now are CATS in Boulder (2 hrs for 5 bucks) and matt's new work, Gym Plus in Denver (4 or 6 bucks, i forget, for 2 hrs.).

so if i were you guys i would evaluate all the options down there and see if you cant find a better deal.

Thanks, will do.  I just hope we have some good gyms down here.  Kinda seems like Denver and Boulder get all the good stuff. :)

I was just thinking about this, but if we can't find a decent gym anywhere close we might be able to mess around at one of the many martial arts places around here.  Are any of the Springs people in martial arts?  If so you should look into practising at your martial arts place.  It's just a thought, but it would be kinda cool.  Anyway let me know what you think.

I don't like the price at all myself.  But thats why we don't make a habit of going there too often.  Most of the time we have to improvise and find cheaper ways to train safely.  We may use the gymnastic matts at school and there are certain areas with really friendly grass.  We have a lot of new folks now and so we wanna do something cool.  Despite the price, art sports is really a great gym.  They just moved to a huge new location, and there's plenty of resources to work with there now.  I hear the foam pit there is some kind of like uneccessarily huge 50 foot foam pit.  I think I'd be to afraid of gettin like... stranded at sea. :)

Ya know i've never thought about using the school equipment but that is a great idea.  I really think that we should begin the formation of a club.  That way we could practise with at least all the people interested at school.

It's been run by Sibs already we just need a sponsor.  Carter was the most likely candidate but you know he's lready got so many clubs.. well now that I think about it... All of those are over already.  Halo Club is toast, so is Ultamite Frisbee club.  Maybe thats a possibility.  Everybody just try maybe dropping hints, floating it by him, ya know.
