Joint Cracking
« on: November 27, 2005, 02:25:47 PM »
I like to crack my neck, knuckles, and sometimes knees. I get sick of misinformed people telling me its bad for your health. So I was very happy today when I found this article:

http://www.newstarget.com/012850.html

Cracking all your crackable joints sounds like a good idea before any parkour. :)

I've read in many many places that there is nothing to prove that cracking your joints causes arthritis or other adverse health issues.  Cracking joints is just the release of gases around a joint or by tendon and ligaments as they cross over the joints.

Wow thats sweet, I've been pestered by all sorts of "educated" people saying that I will regret cracking my joints when i'm older.  But I've been cracking every joint I can since I was a wee one ;D.

Yeah joint cracking isn't bad unless you crack your knuckles like every 5 minutes then you can develop problems.

I can crack my left big toe as many times as I want strait, but I've never heard of anyone that can do that with their fingers.  I don't think it's a problem unless you constantly do it, I would just say that you are special ;)

My boyfriend constantly tells me, that if i pop my back all the time (when its needed) then i wont be able to walk when im older, what bs now lol

All I have to do is move and I start cracking up (bad pun. But when is there ever a good one?) At my school people actually have "Crack-Offs" it's pretty funny.

Warning: Cracking nuckles may result in severe obesity!  Due to the fact that every time you crack your nuckles, you gain 5 pounds of pure lard on the bottom of your feet.  (SARCASTIC)

Oh, I've had that too.  I've decided that the one joint I don't enjoy cracking is the elbow.  It's just too painful, and it's always unexpected.  You'll just ry to straighten your arm, then you will feel it and be like "oh no!, not again!" then when you finally do shove your arm straight it snaps laoudly and hurts for a while after........ugh!
