20 days...time sure does fly

Weight: 176 lbs

Ran 1 mile today, got about 6:30 mile time. Then, played some soccer and practiced b-twists. Landed a couple of b-twists, didn't look great, but I'm still happy I landed them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MW_G-iw1U0

Oh, and by the way, I haven't had the chance to practice backflips in a couple of weeks due to time restraints and a lack of a spotter. This video is my most recent practice, from the Sunday before the last.

My latest b-twists^

Also did some Insanity today, decided to try the workout. Wasn't really easy, I was surprised at the difficulty. Debating whether to stick it through, as I'm pretty sure I could do a better workout alone...to be determined.

Day 5 of Insanity

This is pretty tough. I'm not gonna lie, it was tougher than I thought it would be. I consider myself in pretty good shape, and this tires me out a ton (Doesn't really build muscle, but can help me get in better shape). Luckily, I've been following the nutrition guide, so I've definitely eating healthier. I'm hoping to lose a few pounds and gain some inches on my vertical jump.

Other than that, just been practicing b-twists.

Day 8 of Insanity
Kinda tough, definitely feeling a little more in shape as I do these workouts. All bodyweight exercises: pushups, and different running/agility variations. I was getting lazy over the winter, and I think that these Insanity workouts can really get me motivated and in shape for some parkour and tricking over the summer and fall. Just gotta get through exams  :)

Finished month 1 of insanity. It was pretty tough, the hardest part for me was that each workout got kinda boring after doing it a couple of times, and this hurts my motivation. Starting month 2 today, so everything should be fresh. Also, learned a full-twist on the trampoline last night. Haven't had much time to trick over the past month while doing insanity, but when I do eventually get back to tricking it should be a lot easier.

Looooong Break

Reunited with my old friend Sean, haven't seen him in a while. Also, met some other kids that do parkour, and I'm planning to have  sesh with them in a couple of days. Expect a small sampler of all the skills I still have to come tomorrow!

Today I:

-practiced b-twists
-practiced tic-tacs over objects
-and attempted a couple gainers

The gainers were very sad. as a result, I am not going to post any videos of my attempts. The good part is that on about 3 out of like 30 i managed to kick up good and flip my head and body backwards. After that, I typically just bailed, and so the gainers looked horrible. I did about half a gainer, not truly committing and not tucking, just flailing my body around. It needs lots of work, but I'm still happy that I managed to muster up some courage and attempt the gainers.

thanks shamas...

so today i had a short parkour sesh with sean and a couple of other friends. Didn't do too much, but had some fun. the video isn't anything special, but it was a good time. Anyway, about the gainers. didn't have time to practice them today, but here's the video of my gainers yesterday...advice and criticism is greatly wanted. And yes, I realize they suck, and that is why I am looking for help.

Good start!

Work on those landings and rolls! Keep it up, though.

Hmmm, been working on lots of stuff. Nailed b-twists on concrete, I can land them virtually every time. Had an awesome sesh with my friends today, and here's some stuff from this and past weekends.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLMUjWat0hs

Also landed 2 front flips today, and practiced front handsprings. Life's good  :)

Workout out today, did SS (Day 1, so don't laugh):

3xSquat
5x115
5x115
5x115

3xBench
5x105
5x105
5x105

3xChinups
5x
3x
2x

Also practiced frontflips again, I can land them on a slight decline, but it really jars my legs, and kinda hurts...will work on more.

Ski season's over, now back to parkour and tricking. Hitting up the open gym this friday, trying to get my backflips and fronts back to good. Other than that, my trampoline skills are awesome, I almost landed a double fulltwist the other day. Also, my vertical leap has improved a ton in the ski season. Playing rugby also, so I might be a little tired, but in good shape. Now that this extremely sucky winter's over, its time to get back into the swing of things.

Nailed b-twists on concrete again first try. They were actually much easier due to my improved vertical leap. Can't wait for the next open gym.
