How long does it usually take your body to transition?
« on: June 14, 2010, 05:33:32 PM »
Well, I'm going to start eating a lot healthier..
But, should I just change my whole diet or just do it as a pace..For example, change some of it and let my body get used to that then keep changing it until I change my whole diet...
Most of my diet is unhealthy excluding some things. For example..Today I had..
1/2th a box of cereal(Fruity Pebbles)
A gallon of milk(The red one, which I think is 4%)
2 BBQ sandwiches
2 pizza bagels
2 Pb&J's
1 toasted Jam sandwich
2 stacks of oreo's
2 Cokes
Glass of lemonade
2 glasses of water
Poptarts :D
Just a handful of Cheeze-it'z
2 handfuls of chips(Salt and vinnegar)
1 brownie
20 deep-fried pizza rolls

Luckily, I stay the same weight, I fluctuate a lot, I'll lose a couple pounds in a week then gain it back.
But, this whole year I've stayed the same weight.. (I'm 15 years old..)

I want to start eating a lot healthier, but alas..I hate vegetables..
The only one I like are the starchy ones..I've tried to eat green vegetables but I either have to gag them down or I down-right throw-up..
Any suggestions of what I can eat healthier?
P.S I started not so long ago to strength train, so I would need my protein???
PSS.I've read all the sticky's

You're still pretty young, but a better diet would help you feel better overall. (To be honest, looks like a crappy, average American diet :P )

Ye, I've been pretty tired lately..
I thought it was coming from more of a emotional thing though.
Since, I've been on this kind of diet my whole life..

I'd say cut out all the bad stuff and then switch over. Personally switching too quickly is too much of a change for my body.

So definitely no oreo's, coke, poptarts, pizza rolls or chips.

Some of the other stuff is sorta ok depending on what is in them. What exactly is a BBQ sandwich?

As for green vegetables, I'd look into salads which can be a bit easier to get into.

These should help you get started: (I know you've read them just double check with any adivce you're getting here)

BBQ=Barbecue sandwich(The microwaved one)
I guess..I can try to gag down some salad, it's the least tasting out of all excluding celery(Which is in a lot of salads..)
Thanks for the help, if anyone else wants to comment, please do.:D

On another note, I'd say definitely increase your water intake. I have a bottle probably around 400-500ml or so that I fill at least 3 or so times a day.

Water helps to curb hunger, keeps your body hyrdated, encourages effecient filtering etc etc.

Definitely. 500ml bottles work best. Whenever I start with cold water and don't finish it in a 1000ml bottle, I end up tossing the rest. I HATE warm water :P

What do you think Milk is? There's a whole bunch of water in milk. What are your goals?

If you switch from crap to good food you may experience some discomfort and general irritability for about 2-3 weeks.

Then you will tend to feel about 1.5-5x better depending on how your individual genetics made you feel about eating crap.

For some people with certain intolerances with going gluten free especially if they are close to celiac and stuff it may be closer to 100x better.

Well, I'm hoping it makes me feel better..
I guess I'll have to struggle for 2-3 weeks, but I'll be fine..

It's not set in stone... you may nto experience it.

But it is high probability unfortunately.

Any vegetables you can recommend that aren't green and are healthy unlike corn.

I can't even put them in my mouth excluding celery without throwing up almost instantly..
Now thinking of..I don't think I like the color green..
I can't even touch my nose barely without almost puking, so I can never blow my nose..

Try changing all of it at once and come tell us how it goes :P

Chances are you'll have to do it gradually

Corn on the cob is fine to eat. It's the processed stuff from corn that is garbage.

Once you cut the sugar it's likely that green veggies will taste much better.

Well, starting tomorrow, I'm going to start eating healthier...
It's the last day of school today, that is why I'm transitioning it right now..
Wish me luck, I'll post results if I feel any better..

I've cut all snacks and haven't really noticed a difference, but it's too early to tell of course.
I've been taking in a lot more water by about 15x(I'm serious)
I'm eating ok, I tried to eat something healthier today and it did not taste too bad.
Had chicken and eggs wrapped around lettuce, is that pretty healthy?(I've also been working out a lot lately hence the reason with the eggs, and they just taste so good)
