another Newbie here
« on: June 10, 2010, 08:14:46 PM »
Kick ass site!  Been trying some parkour around my neighborhood, inspired by District 13, some youtube clips, and some dudes I saw at Brooklyn schools.

I gonna get that way if I end up breaking every bone in my body.  Anyone have any cool injuries to post about?

(I'm going to say this straight out, you're quite misdirected.)

Parkour isn't about "cool injuries," or the biggest roof jump, or taking the biggest drop.

Parkour is about efficient movement through any environment. It is about conditioning your body so you can move better.

Please find an experienced traceur, (one who practices parkour,) in your area and learn from him/her.

When  you dont even get a scratch from pk thats when you'll know that you mastered it. but the road to becoming a traceur is very painfull indeed. [WTF]
Je ne fais pas parkour, j'aime parkour.

:o :o :o :o :'( :'( [WTF] [WTF] [WTF] dont end up like Mr. [WTF] As evan said parkour isnt about goin to the extreme and jumping off of shit and looking cool. Its a discipline an art form many other things people will say but it dont matter :D Its moving and its being safe. Not to the point where your wearing bubble wrap but when your feeling comfortable with what you do and you should ask yourself do you really want to do this or do you just want to look cool. If you just want to look cool people here may ridicule you for doing so. People take parkour seriously here sure everyone gets into it for different reasons and everyone is welcome but please just dont go and jump off a roof and say you were doing parkour and its Gnarly. Just Friendly advice from a noob. :D You should start out with taking it seriously and getting your mind prepared for this. Just to make sure you really want to do this and if you do want to. Everyone here is willing to help. :D
