Are my feet too big for parkour?
« on: June 10, 2010, 10:08:29 AM »
Hey, im 15 years old, live in north carolina, and practice parkour alot, i think i am fairly good, and want to get better, but there is one problem...
IT SEEMS MY FEET ARE TOO BIG...
I have been trying to purchase some "k-swiss ariakes" and have even tried "5.10's" but it seems they dont sell my size, i dont know whether to order bigger or smaller, for either shoe.
I wear a size 13.5 in nikes, the only shoe i pretty much have ever worn. I have tried to go to stores to try on some k-swiss' but they only sell, skate shoes made by k-swiss...
If ANYONE has any idea on whether ariakes, or 5.10's run big or run small please tell me!

p.s
I've tried googling for hours and have found nothing, so i came to this site to try and help me out. (after all it is a parkour website)

You don't need Ariakes or 5.10s! Many of us train in regular sneakers.

Size 15's  ;) I train in either Vibrams or my Nike Darts, they both suit me well. I do have some size 14 1/2 freerunners so they're out there, just takes some searching.

Ha, you think you feet are too big? I just found out today that my feet are too small for Vibram Five Fingers, it really made me sad. :(

Damn you feet that haven't gown in the past 4 years, not to mention that they're two different sizes.  >:(

Hows the grip?
The Durability?
And thanks for that guys, thought i would need ariakes or 5.10's to up my game, but nike is one of my favorite brands, glad they made some shoes that are good for parkour!

Virtually any shoe is good for parkour.
It's truly less about the shoe, and more about yourself and your technique.

nah big feet work fine  ;)

just go to Sports Authority if you can and get some decent running shoes. or if they happen to have parkour shoes get them. At my Sports Authority they have "shoe insurance" and if you pay $10-15 (depending on the price of the shoe) you can get another pair of the same shoe or as much as you paid for a future pair of shoes as long as your current shoes wear out in the next year. (if only they carried vibrams or 5.10s at Sports Authority....)

Your feet aren't too big. I wear a size 13.

There's not much difference.

But the difference is so small it doesn't matter really.

thats like saying that compared to a category 5 hurricane, a category 4 doesnt do any thing. even the slightest bit can mean everything

Its not like that at all. We're talking about shoe sizes not destructive storms.

that was an example. the main point was even the slightest difference can mean everything.

Not on this subject.
