Newcomer from across the Atlantic!
« on: May 30, 2010, 01:37:40 PM »
Well I guess its about time I start posting.

As the thread name suggests I'm from Europe, specificaly Sweden. I'm 18 years of age (soon to turn 19 in july) and I guess im kinda big for my hight (5ft 9inch and 175lbs but hopefully the muscle will come to some use).

I come from a fairly short marshal arts background (a few years of Jujutsu) but it has given me a headstart when it comes to the roll though its been years. I also practiced breakdancing for a while.

I first encountered parkour from a video on youtube about five years ago when I was 14, gave up on it pretty quickly because I didn't have a partner back then. I guess five or six months ago I stumbled upon a video of Oleg doing his thing in "Out of Time" and I have never been so blown away in my entire life. This again sparked my intrest in parkour and thats when I found this site. So after a few months of studying both parkour and freerunning its time to put theory into practice.

I've been practicing the roll now for almost a week and my landings for a while longer. The roll still needs a bit of touch up but my landings are pretty good. You'll most likely see a video up sometime soon to help me out with the roll.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

P.S Dont mind the horrible spelling.

High-five for the newcomers!  :D Good luck with your training and make sure to practice within your limit.
