Been doing a lot this week, and hedgehog has been over from Texas so we've been killing ourselves with the training and keeping close eye and recording all we do....yea that didn't happen, but we have been going psycho with the training. Today I just did one workout and I'm taking the next few days off (probably won't happen) to do some other stuff.

Don't remember everything but here it goes
KB swings at 35lbs for 3 sets of 20 each arm
KB complex:
clean, squat, press
5 sets of 5 at 35lbs per hand
7 sets of snatches 5 per hand at 35lbs
2 sets of snatches 8 per hand at 35lbs
1 set of snatches 3 per hand at 50lbs (that's killer, I can do them alright but my grip wears out)
the plank for 45 seconds with 70lbs sandbag on my back
heavy rope at full speed for 30 seconds

If I'm lucky I will find something entertaining to do tomorrow to keep my mind off training, if not, well I always have Sunday's for rest days.

Forgot to post the past few days, like I said in the other message helped some cousin's get ready for a deployment, carrying around a 35lbs rig and 70lbs bag for three days really take's it out of you, and the whole point was for evasion, had 8 of our other cousin's hunting the 4 of us. No sleep at all, but it makes you tough so all good.

Yesterday I did a lot of push ups, ab workout and some other crap. Last Friday I did a lot with the KBs, and 30 tire flips, that joker was hot to, blistered up one of my fingers and popped it during the process, waiting for that to heal so I can get after it again.

Things are starting to calm down now so I can actually start posting again. Some cousin's were getting ready for a deployment and I was training with them, once we get started, there's not telling when we will stop, sun up to sun down. There returning to the Teams here in a few days for final preperation's so I'll be training on my own again starting Monday. I'll try to post some of what I do then.

Didn't do much today, still a little sore for Hawk's little "game" that was a rough one.

2 minutes of pop ups
10 plyo screw ups
8 scorpions
7 bridge rocks
6 spetz pop ups
25 jumping lunges
12 sit reach
3 rounds
tomorrow is pull up day.

Going sky diving in September, help me get ready for jump school and HALO/HAHO.

Wow I forgot I had this, maybe E was right I need to get out of the woods more. Finally got a opening in SERE, I leave January 18th, until then I just got to beat myself up twice as hard. Been training with a former Force Recon guy that lives near me, well more me doing the work and him yelling to run faster, or not good enough do it again, but I can do muscle up's now so no complaints. So far today:
kettlebell complex:
clean and press 3 reps
clean and squat 3 reps
8 sets at 35lbs
20 tire flips with 550lbs tire
tire pull to 100 yards, 50 each way, with the 135lbs tire
angry catapiliar for 50 yards.
some weird move I forget the name of.

Will post the rest when I get done with it.

Just finished training with that force recon feller, dang Sarg is gonna kill me if we keep at this pace, told a buddy some of the crap he has had me doing, poor kids having nightmares, and I just told him that stuff, he ain't even done it. My legs feel like jello, arms still burning and Christ my core, I've apparently got like the strongest core around (according to family/friends/people asking when my funeral is) and my abs are freaking killing me, cruel and unusual punishment, this crap is torcher. Loving every minute of it, so how was your day Greg?

Lets see... that was posted Tuesday soo.... I don't know.

I've lost all track of time. I was tired for the first 2 months of summer, so I have taking the last 2 weeks as rest. Going to start training again when school starts up. Haven't even been trying to stay active. It happens anyway.

I do feel bad for not training at all since the end of June, though. September October and November (provided it stays warm) are going to be hard working months. This winter I am going to get a membership at a local gym. Beef up for next summer. Hopefully I will also be able to drive by then, that means trips to Boston, and going to Portland a lot more often.

Sounds like you're still doing harder workouts than I could survive through. Made me think of this guy: http://badassoftheweek.com/luttrell.html
Heck with drugs and alcohol. I get high off exercise. Feel those endorphins pump.

I knew who that was just from seeing the name on the link. I'm reading his book right now. My cousin was one of the CRO's that went in to recover the bodies of Spartan 01, It was a rough deal. While I don't intend to go the SEAL route, I've got a lot of respect for those guys, grew up around SEALs, there's a handful of them in my family currently serving, and another handful that retired. I've never met him, but the fact that he is a SEAL makes him alright in my book.
That gym can help you out a good bit, but don't neglect calastinic's. Body weight training transfers over well into weight, but not vis versa, so keep that in mind, and don't neglect your legs, a lot of people neglect lower body in weight training. Make sure to stretch out good to, and don't try to be superman, start from the bottom and work your way up, that and eating right should help prevent injury, as well as proper technique. As for what I'm doing, don't sweat it, your already probably in better shape then 90% of the USA, I do crazy stuff, most of which I don't recommend, Since I been hanging around this Force Recon guy, I've passed out 5 times, puked several dozen times, and woke up in worse pain then I've ever been in. I've been starved, sleep deprived, wet, and cold, so trust me your not missing anything great haha. But I'm now doing this:
bench press working out with 160lbs
bench press max 190lbs
50 rep sets of push ups, anywhere from 400-700 reps a day
300 rep sets of set ups, usually 2-3 sets a day
50lbs KB snatch
running 4 miles on an empty stomach
3 correct muscle up's at a time
30 reps of hanging leg raises per set, 3-8 sets
And to much more to list. I swear even my hair hurts. But I'm getting closer and closer to my goal every day so it's worth it. Your body is only limited by your mind, set your mind to something and you can do anything, as long as you don't have an ounce of doubt you will be fine. Control the mind and you control the body.

"even my hair hurts" made me laugh a ton. I like tough workouts, but I agree that your workouts may be a bit too intense for me... or humans.

Yeah the gym looks pretty good. There are some opportunities for bodyweight training, and there are boxes to jump onto. It should be an interesting winter.

Ha ha it's true though everything has been hurting, did a one arm push up last night, every bone in my body popped, cousins thought I broke something, a lot of somethings. Yea I don't think humans are ment to do half of this crap, but it's all mental. You'll enjoy the gym, lot of good times, if anyone picks at ya just pop out a couple muscle ups and they will shut up. Most guys at a gym are fairly nice though, don't be shy to ask for help with something if you need it.

I don't think people would start anything with me. I am mostly muscle, sporting a lean 7% bodyfat, very determined when it comes to working out, and pound for pound, I am pretty tough.

Not many people my size can do handstand pushups. Granted I used a wall for balance, but the fact stands.

Internet's been down, finished reading lone survivor, real good book you should give it a read. Did the angry catapilar for 80 feet Monday, not so much sore but realized half way through my back was sun burnt. Did a lot of stuff but learned a new little exercise that involves a 70lbs sand bag, very painful, I love it. Been running, lots of running, and need to do more, I'm trying to focus more on running.

Been hitting the running like crazy this week. Got to take the PAST again next Thursday, just about killed myself today, did about an hour and a half workout, pulls ups, jump push ups, bench press, pull ups, muscle ups, then went down for a swim, got to talking to one feller in the locker rooms, told him I was a SERE candidate, he asked how far I could swim I told him I don't know but I get board before I get tired so usually don't got until I'm tired. This feller messed up he told me "I bet you couldn't swim a mile in that pool, no way" well I proved that joker wrong, swam a mile in under an hour, wasn't as hard as I thought, felt like I could just go forever, wasn't tired at all. Then I got out of the pool and went to dry off, I could feel the pulse in my legs, man I was give out that was about a stupid idea, kinda fun to rub it in those folks face though.

The sweet taste of victory, followed close behind by puke. Ended up puking my guts out that night, that feller learned his lesson though. Some girl watched me do it to, was gonna say something to her but didn't want to pass out in front of her so just went straight to the lockers.

I really need to get out of the woods more, I keep forgetting about this log. Anyways toke the PAST again, went up on everything but the run
200 meter swim
1.5 mile run 12:04
20 pull ups
81 set ups
75 push ups
Hurt my knee like the Monday before the past, half way through the run it started throbbing, everyone lapped me, sucked, legs better now though, trying to get down to a 9:69 minutes of less mile and a half, got till January 18th to do it to. Did a 10:29 the other day 10:30 is special forces granted I had a skunk chacing me through most of that one at five in the morning, great motivation.
Well I have been stepping it up on everything, They changed the push ups and pull ups on the test on me, we used to just have to come up straight armed but not locked out on the push ups, now we have to lock out, same on the pull ups, won't affect the pull ups but does make the push ups a little trickier. Just makes things funner. Got a new place to run, hilly to, feels like I'm in Alaska again, more like mountains then hills.
Anyways, Greg how's the training going? It's finally getting down below 80 degree's down here so running is sucking less. "Embrace the suck" it's my new way of life. Did you ever check out anything on liver tablets?
