Because they automatically associate any kind of extreme athleticism with the ability to do a backflip.

I usually tell them to do it. Then, when they say, "I can't do that!", i reply smoothly with, "Wanna learn how?".

i get the same thing alot too. i just politely tell them I dont do that stuff, they usually say "thats gay" then i tell them to go do it themselves then.

yeah, thats why i started advertising to teach them...

but if you dont do flips, just show them something really aesthetically pleasing (a.k.a. cool, sweet, or amazing) and say, "ok, your turn".

"i cant do anything like that!"

"Want me to teach you?"

lmao my friends are always yelling "do a flip!" at me..its pretty funny..so i do a back tuck just to shut them up
