Canton Parkour?
« on: May 19, 2010, 02:27:09 PM »
Hey, guys. I live ten minutes away from Canton, and I train at Heritage Park a lot. I'm wondering if anyone here knows where I'm talking about. I know of at least two other guys who train there, but I haven't seen them recently. I've been looking for a training partner for a while, but I haven't found one  :-\ .

Anyways, just wondering if there are any traceurs in Canton.

I'm in dearborn heights like 10 minutes down the road. I hit Hines around 5 times a week but not been to heritage park yet.

Where in Hines do you go? I've been through there before, but I don't think I've ever seen any structure.

I run distance there. The fences are low enough to practice vaults and its like 5 minutes away. Was looking at Heritage on google maps. Looks like a better area.

Ah, I see. Heritage is basically a really big wooden playground. It's fairly sturdy, and pretty good for almost everything. There isn't a good spot to practice wall-runs, but that's only one of the two true downsides the park has.

There are also a lot of places for precision jumps and vaulting.

The other downside to the Park is that on really nice days when I'd expect to train there, there is a HIGH chance of 6- to 10-year-old children. They sometimes get in the way, but there isn't much to do about it.

Sounds good. I'm getting sick of training alone. Hit me back here after the weekend and we should set something up.

Same here. Training alone can get almost boring.  When are you available to train?

Okay, cool. The times sound good, but I'll have to check a few things out. Have fun with your friend, and I'll message you later in the week.

I've trained with Wenxin once, but that's it. I don't see him much at Heritage.

Thanks, I'll look into that topic

I'm going to hart plaza on national parkour day. Sense I'd rather do the city down there on such an epic day.

But next week we should do something. I'm buying a pair of feiyues and I wanna break them in.  ;D

I can;t make it to Hart Plaza on Saturday, I'll probably be in Ann Arbor.

Yeah, we should. I'll send you a message sometime around Sunday. Nice, I've never used those, but I've heard they have nice traction.
