Final Fantasy VII (memorial)
« on: October 16, 2006, 11:08:16 PM »
So yea call me a dork i don't care.

Me and a fellow traceur friend share another common interest other than PK...a strong love for Final Fantasy VII.

We are currently building a 1/2 acre Japanese Style garden in my back yard and we came up with an idea to incorporate FFVII into it, we want to build a large deep pond, and in the middle a small(like 2ftx2ft) island with a memorial/tombstone for Aeris/Aerith on it.

we are currently working on trying to feature other parts of FFVII into the garden as well, such as;

Lucretia's Waterfall

The Northern Crater(with flowing lifestream in it)

Midgar(slums district)

i was just wondering if anyone else had some clever yet not-so-expensive ideas on other areas of FFVII we could incorporate.

My sentiments exactly Kenkomachi- needs more Chocobos. And the chocobo theme song playing ALL THE TIME.
A cool idea would be if you could make a replica of one of Clouds swords and have it sticking out of the ground or something.

Man, FFVII is like the Mecca of gaming, and I have yet to make the Haaj. Does anyone have -any- idea where I can get a copy of the PC version? I've been looking all over amazon and so forth, and nothing so far :" (

i like that idea alot akh, i think if we have the money im definetly gonna stick clouds buster somewhere.

*UPDATE*

we've decided to turn some old small farm structures into Tifa's bar from the very beginning of the game. and since the struckture is already there it shouldn't be that expensive to make.

LOVE FFVII!
Badass idea you have there, I made two nice buster swords from cardboard myself. =P

But may I also suggest chocobo's, and maybe moogles. (How can you think final fantasy without those two?!)
Choco Bill's place is a nice idea, (Chocobo farm if you don't remember.) and maybe Niblheim, Rocket town and the Icicle inn?

You could make the inn near the northern crater, with a path leading up to it.

Another idea would be the Shinra mansion, the basement in particular.

Another neat idea would be Cosmo Canyon, or the Golden Saucer maybe.

Just throwing ideas out there. I wanna see this when it's done...

Xenogears is the Mecca of gaming.  FFVII is amateur.

However, FFXII looks to be quite promising.

Sorry. I'm a giant gamer. But not a fan of final fantasy. I am however obsessive about my garden.

So i may not have FF tips. But if you have any gardening tips i can help you. Also when designing a garden make sure the colors and objects flow. You do not want to much contrast in one area. Also remember that simple greens can be very buetiful. Don't leave out the regular plants. Google japanese moss garden. Also for a japnesey feel you can always throw in a rock garden/sand garden, sure an oldy, but a goody.

Heh, Cyanide reminded me that it was also a garden. >_<

I have my own herb garden along with a few plants, but one of the coolest are these neat grass seeds I picked up sometime around two years ago. (If I could get pictures, I would, but I don't have any way to do it, I haven't planted any in the new house.)

I could try to find the seed pack, but all I know about it (Not to get too technical, or specific.) is that it's a type of Fescue, a blue type, but not the festuca caesia type, it's (If I remember correctly) "Festuca ovina glauca" and it's like this silvery blue-green grass that grows in clumps.
It looks awesome, so I'm gonna plant some later on next year.

If I can find my pack of seeds, I'll scan it and edit in to this post.
I'll go look now. =P

think psycomega has a pretty good idea with the gold saucer. id be cool for you to have a circlular pit of sand with the gold saucer sticking out the middle.  and maybe a lil red claw sticking out too.

thats a nice idea, but me and my friend are going for scale things, for example, for the northern crater, we're renting a backhoe and getting a circular hole 10-15ft deep dug, with a sprial staircase around the outer rim, and at the bottom, a sheet of plexyglass, with green lights and flowing ribbon(ribbons made to move via fan) to look like the Lifestream.

now if we had the money to build a 4 story building with multiple rooms, and hire arcitechs to make it look like the gold saucer we would, but sadly we don't.

what size scale are you going for?

theres no definite scale we're going for really, we just want all of the things we build to be big enough that we can actually walk into and move around in.

Punching bags set up to look like the Zolom, maybe?
Then you could beat it up, rather than just look at it.
And I've got marbles that I've pretended were materia, so it might not be a bad idea...
