Block ups?
« on: October 01, 2006, 09:24:34 PM »
A couple of weeks or months ago, someone mentioned a pushup where you push up to a standing position. Should the body be tight and straight throughout and how much should the ankles/feet contribute?

Its mainly an exercise for your chest and shoulders. Body should stay as straight as possible or else you are cheating and using your back. If you can stay straight, make it easier. For example move up to the 4th step instead of the 3rd.

Wait, you start in a push-up position and go all the way to standing? You would have to be unbelievably ripped to do that with good form.
My promise for the month: three sets of handstand pushups (upto 5 reps now...)

I keep having these dreams that I'm falling.
The strange thing is, when I wake up,
They keep coming true.

thats why you start out higher than ground level. for example, put your hands on the 4th step of a staircase and do it. when you can do that perfect, go to the 3rd step and so on.
