back flip traveling?

i jst got my back flip last friday at the gym. on that day most of my flipz were landed no more than a half a foot away from where i started. but on saturday nd 2day, wen i went 2 the beach 2 prac. my flipz were traveling rly far back like around 2-3 feet... idk y its happening but im trying 2 wrk on jst making them like how they were at the gym... any tips? thnk u.

I can't watch the video since I'm at school, but I'll wager it's because you're leaning back. Focus on going straight up, tucking and landing, no backwards leaning involved.

After watching the video I'm guessing that leaning back is probably causing the problem. The gym video doesn't show a lot of leaning but often when we take skills to new environments we get a little nervous which causes us to change technique.

The only thing I noticed that was causing the early attempts to fail is just a loose tuck (almost a pike) and opening the flip a bit too early. Make sure your feet get all the way back under you.  Looks pretty good though - lots of height on the set. Keep at it  :)

i got over my fear of throwing them on grass so ill try nd change my technique back 2 the way they were at the gym.

i cant look at the vid right now because this computer has a block on youtube for some reason...

but try looking at something as you jump up, then tuck. looking straight ahead as you go up is what fixed my travel problems

yeah dude ur leaning back wen u jump and just throwin ur arms back and then not tucking which is bad.....u need to throw ur arms up! jump! TUCK!!!!!!! and then spot the ground.
