Personally I love watching the challange, it's been a big inspiration for me to go out and train so that's a major upside. Pretty much everything they do is freerunning but now freerunning and parkour have become the same thing to the ignorant people that don't grasp the concepts and philosophies behind them.

Hey sorry I have been away guys, I have been busy training, trying these new WFPF shoes to see how they really hold up from an unbiased point of view, and shooting this Thursdays episode.

So to answer a few questions, yes we will be ending the season at six episodes, but we sold the series over seas as previously stated.
Also the reason the wfpf didn't make this an open challenge is because they really wanted to show the Philosophical side of what we do, not just the skill. Some people out there have some major body awareness however they lack the passion and mindset. They carefully choose us based on personality, diversity in beliefs, and other moral/ethical decisions. All in all it was a very good move in showing what we do in a positive manner..

Other ways to really help would be to comment/friend UPC facebook
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/ParkourMTV?ref=ts

and the more fans we get for this, the more we can make things all our way... This is a new site for us (Parkour Play House); they pretty much bought us a house and we will be putting videos/blogs, pictures, and have special guest. and just showing all the fun of being together.. If we can get enough views/friends looking at the site then some really great things can come about... btw "TIME OFF II" and other videos will be exclusively released there, just so we can boost views.

As seems to be the consensus in this thread, my favorite person on the show is Oleg. He's crazy skilled, and the passion for the practice seems like something that could easily inspire a lot of new people to try their hand at Parkour. While I do have one or two problems with the show (did no one think to clean up the audio?) overall I feel like it was really entertaining and may very well bring some welcome visibility to Parkour and Freerunning.

Due to the network losing a significant loss of male viewers in that block they decided on a flat 6 season. Not a bad thing at all considering they sold it to over 240 countries. There are high thoughts of another show similar (hopefully better) formatted show, in a better time slot for the viewers..

Daniel thanks for the feedback. That was a good call on mtv's part to seek the athletes that really has the passion for the sport.

K let's all add the Parkour Playhouse to "list of cool stuff to like/add on Facebook."  Sounds like a great idea.

6 episodes for something like this is not bad at all.  There's a lot of shows that will run a six ep series, and few get the reaction that this has.

Daniel A., keep up the good work and get healed so we can see you play on another course!

As an aside--did Oleg convince you to do his laundry?  Just wondering... ;D

It was mostly the WFPF's call to get proper athletes, btw I am healed up and will be in this weeks episode. and Chris I would never do Olegs laundry.. Hes on his own, the most I would do is go watch him do it..

Ok, here's my review of the show so far:

Overall, it's pretty decent. The videos are always great because they let the teams do what THEY want to do. The audio could be a bit better, but you have to remember that it's a live show, so some messups are bound to happen. The speed runs they were doing with the first episodes seemed alright, but could have been better. They were a bit limited, telling the Traceurs exactley where to go instead of letting them decide how to do something. Luckily, I think they fixed this with the latest final round, at the castle. It makes them use their skills to get to certain places, but lets them do it how they want. They also have a time limit, which means efficieny has to be a player. The flips and everything are for the media, and for fun among the Traceurs. I think the show will have a moslty positive impact. They do a fairly good job explaining what Parkour is, and advise against reckless recreation of it. The Traceurs on the show are what really make it positive though. They're not in it to win. They're there to have fun and see what they can do while spreading the message of Parkour. Their "competition" is all in fun, nothing serious. So...

Competitors: A
Challenges: B
Hosts: C

Impact/Impression: B

well then lets see you up there ;D no really though, they may be able to do some of the techniques, but definitely not with fluidity or ease....so its not about being able to do it, but how well you can perform.

...this is the exact mentality that might get some newcomer hurt... what the F are you talking about?
Go take a look at this stuff live.
Everything is easy on TV...

Can't believe I'm reading this on a parkour site, not on YouTube.

the F might be because the challenges arent made that well yet. how can you judge someone on how well they do parkour... ie speed rounf skill round free style round theyre not yet sure how to judge it.

I personally think that this could bring out alot of kids trying to re-enact what they see from the show(posers) not really putting in the proper training. This has both positive and negative effects. It could result in injuries of fans watching the show, thinking it's easy, which puts a bad light on US and Parkour/Freerunning. We all have seen how the media views Skateboarding .On the other hand it gives Parkour alot of recognition, and will help it spread faster. But how will it spread. Mtv should of put more research into parkour and not just worry about their ratings. Also Change the name to the Ultimate Freerunning challenge. Parkour has never been associated with competition. All the existing competitions were named with Freerunning. I can see this going the wrong way , where a bunch of kids who have just seen the show go out and get hurt, calling what they're doing Parkour. Of course i do enjoy the show. Great display of moves and techniques, and it's pretty badass to see how quickly Parkour and Freerunning have spread, but remember that was before there was a show...

its really going to depend on the indivisual...if they see it and re-enact it and get hurt, its because they were careless and didnt think it through (most the time), but if they see it and want to do what we do, the serious people would take time to atleast watch some turtorials and or find a site like this so they can do parkour...its up to us to re-enforce safety (doesnt help that MTV says these "stunts" are extremely dangerous though)
