Topic: Organization- READ!!

The traceurs in Iowa are very isolated. We need to organize. We talk about jams and teams, but we never succeed in doing these things. I decided that these things are useless unless we think correctly. Des Moines is our capitol, and so that makes it our heart. We must make our heart strong so that the rest can be as strong. That means that Des Moines is our only hope of organizing. We have to center our plans on Des Moines for the time being and slowly progress everywhere else. I am 15 years old, but I love parkour too much to just practice and watch you guys fail to organize yourselves. I will organize Iowa Parkour, but I need help from every person who is available. Begin giving ideas on organization and jams in Des Moines, and I will read every single comment and every word will be in my head when I make my decisions. I promise to create a stronger connection between each of us, but you must be willing to allow me to. All I ask is for your cooperation and patience.

I would help, but I have no way to get to Des Moines. It's too far of a drive for me here in Estherville. That, and I suck, and I would be completely embarrased until I can at least get my kongs down right. lol

Hi. I am not posting this in essence to learn from you or put in little side comments. I have been an active traceur for 4 years and we have a team in Cedar Rapids of about 6 active traceurs. We have practice times. We have conditioning days. We set jams and attend others. We are organized. I understand that you might be frustrated about not being able to organize things in your area, but do realize that things are happening around the state. What people lack is the commitment.

We are strongly connected with Team Impulse in Ames, the ISU guys. We constantly go there to pk on weekends now and then. Hopefully Wil can put some input in here soon. The point is, is that if others are interested in recieving messages about what we are doing statewide and in the midwest please email us,CRPK, at cedar.rapids.pk@gmail.com

This way we can inform everyone of things we are doing as a team in Cedar Rapids. That way, if you are able, you could get buddies together and meet us at wherever we are going. Whether that be in Ames or here is Cedar Rapids or DM. If you contact us, we will certainly be willing to inform you on what our plans are. However, we cannot provide rides. We expect you to get your own transportation and arrange housing on your own if need be.

the jam wasnt what it could have been but two things were gained. 4 traceurs were at the jam and we went around downtown des moines doing parkour. it was really fun though. although we didn't succeed in our goal, we did get started. i expected to get this far though. the 1st jam would obviously be harder to organize than the ones following it. and joe, i already know about you guys and the isu guys. im not sure about the june 5th date but ill see what we can do.

iowa parkour will spread over time, but des moines is the point of interest for it. last time we went to des moines, i think we got at least one person to try parkour or ask what it is. so, if we figure out where we should spread it, we can spread it obviously. for example, if we try to spread parkour at an old peoples' home, we won't have much success. but if we went to the local place of interest for teens and young adults, we can spread it easily. so des moines is important but ive realized theres more to it. des moines is the best chance, but where specifically in des moines? i dont know. we gotta figure that out! somebody got an idea??

Our purpose shouldnt be looking to spread it. If we just do our thing people will see, spread the word about these kids doing all this cool stuff, and we will be contacted or approached by those interested.

Like I said previously and on the jam forum. ON JUNE 5TH THERE WILL BE A JAM AT 12:00 AT THE DOWNTOWN LIBRARY IN DES MOINES.

simple as that. you be there and we can talk and discuss our next jam session. June 5th should be our starting point. Please try and make it down.
