Being as swimming is coming up this summer, I would really like to be a little more toned then I am now. I'm thinking of doing a bodybuilding type program, but adding in pullups, OP, chinups, dips, etc. on certain muscle group days and swimming (HIIT) 5-6 days out of the week. My question to you guys is do you think this is the best route to go?

Strength workkkkkkk

I am really sexy and only train strength.

Seriously, though, I would say to do SS with hypertrophy geared workouts (8-12 RM isolations) after the core lifts.

Unless your allready big and lean its unlikely you need any kind of isolation excercise to heavy compound movements, in moderate rep ranges 6-12, eat to gain muscle, do basic conditioning to keep fat of, Cut when you you get to fat. Simple allways works but never sells, 99% likilihood your not special and don't need some overwrought body builder program, grow muscle, lose fat, look better.

I shall not fear, fear is the mind killer the little death that precedes total obliteration

I will face my fear, I will let it pass over and through me and were it is gone, I will turn the inner eye and see its path, and only I will remain.

I can only do the upper body lifts in SS because my knees are still blown so the most important ones like the squat, deadlift, and power clean are out of the question. I can still do OP, dips, pull/chin ups, and bench though, I was thinking of doing something like on a day where I focus on triceps I do OP, dips, pulldowns, and skullcrushers all in a 8-10 rep area and doing swimming and some light weights on the leg extension and curl for lower body.
