Making a routine
« on: March 17, 2010, 12:30:48 PM »
Hello, I have no idea how to make a workout routine. I only have a pull up bar and free time.
My goals so far are as follows:
Exercises
25 pushups -
10 pull ups/chin ups -

Skills
climb up with proper form -
handstand -

I'm getting the Starting Strength book, but I heard that weight lifting when young is dangerous in some way. I'm 14, 176cm, and 59kg.
What can I do in the meantime before I get the book and, when I get the book, what routine should I follow?

I've read most of the links so far, will have another look tomorrow.
Just to clarify though, would I do the APK warm-up, followed by the apk WOD, or should I work on what I can e.g my sit-ups, push ups, chin ups, or should I practice parkour techniques e.g improve roll, balance, vaults, etc...? (+end with stretching)

Also, for the squat in the APK warm-up, should I do it holding a long stick on my shoulders, or should I just do them with my arms out in front of me?
