n00b from Hammond

I moved from NJ to LA back in July and I'm stuck out here in Hammond. I figure now is as good a time as any to get started...but is there anyone relatively close to the Hammond area and doesn't mind introducing a n00b? I'm looking to travel 15 to 20 miles at most.

Yeah i live about 5 mins. from hammond, Mabe we could get some people or just you and me jam sometime. I live in Independence btw.
