I won't go back and pick apart any posts -Gear
- Well I will. It's a good way to get people to understand specifically what you mean.
I am actively against vids that have no "true pk" moves. -Deft
- There goes casablanca! Seriously though, there are no "true parkour moves."
There is no "move" that you can show me that is parkour, without the proper intent. A vault done to impress someone
is not parkour.
You say its not parkour. Now, in this case I would disagree with you.-Matthew
- I don't know how many times I need to post this before everyone reads it, but I'll just keep in on my clipboard until then. This is a quote from David Belle, translated into english by Danno:
"I dont usually do this, but a small backflip... [he does a backflip] It's not really part of Parkour at all, but since I do a little gymnastics I like to do them because it makes me happy."
This is like telling a noob that when they practice parkour they are not really doing parkour. -Matthew
- No it isn't. This is like telling someone about something that everyone here is passionate about, and backing it up with proof,
for your benefit. Someone who has been doing parkour for 7 months should know these things, especially when the amount of accurate information is increasing everyday.
Therefore am I just practising random movements? -Deft
-In the case of wallspins, palmspins and that sort of thing, yes. They are arbitrary (if fun) movements. Once again, without being in the proper mindset, no movement is parkour. Picture two cardboard boxes, one contains thumb tacks and the other is filled with sawdust. The container is the same, but the content is different. In this same way, any two seemingly identical movements can be completeley different, one parkour, and the other not, based on the intent, and not the motion.
-As for the post you made regarding that jam in NYC, I need some time before replying.
Thanks for reading,
Asa
Edit: Tweaked the analogy
