max wall run height
« on: September 13, 2006, 12:20:50 PM »
Just wondering how high some of you are getting on wall runs (single or multiple steps).  I used to try doing 2 steps, but i found 1 good step was getting me higher than 2 bad steps.  I'm adding about 2-3ft to my normal vertical and hitting 13ft on a good wall, but I have a terrible standing jump anyways (can only tip a basketball rim and i'm 6'1)  so if you wanna throw out some number that'd be cool

Peace.

Around 12 feet is the highest i've been able to pull myself up onto. I'm 5'7"

Edit: Normally i can get around 10 feet max. But this certain occasion i managed to get up there once. Don't think i could do it again. At least not without trying for a while.

Hmmm, Goofy topic but I'll add.

I'm 6`1, I've never actually measured any walls. But I'd say probably around 12-13 feet.

How many of you have actually measured the walls you have done? If you are figuring based on guess and memory I would venture most of you are grossly exaggerating. 12 feet is very high 13 incredible. The highest wall passes I have seen on video probably don't surpass much more then 13.5 feet. The best traceurs I have meet in person had difficult going much over 12 feet.
I shall not fear, fear is the mind killer the little death that precedes total obliteration

I will face my fear, I will let it pass over and through me and were it is gone, I will turn the inner eye and see its path, and only I will remain.

I measured just the other day. And i know 12 feet is high. I had a ridiculously hard time getting up it. I was really lucky and just got my hand on top and pulled and pulled until i got up. I can usually do 10 feet, it's still a little difficult. I can do 8 feet smoothly. Like i said i measured the walls not that long ago.

admitedly I am guessing, but I would say its an educated guess and that 10 feet is really not unbelievable for me (im 6 foot btw)

Think about it this way, he's six feet tall. That means his arm span probally reaches up another foot and half or two feet. So all he has to do in order to reach 10 feet is go up about 4 feet (Taking into account you have to have momentum to get up well). He should be able to do 10 feet smoothly  Espiecally if he has practiced a decent amount. So there you go. It's not all that high.

max height i'm referringto is fingertipping it and muscling up, not smoothly.  I've measured 12ft (the 13 is a typo in my original post, hooray for proof-reading).

See most of here can GET 12. If you can get 12 you can most likely hit 10 smoothly. So all good. I can't always get 12.

i concur. 10 feet you should just about be able to reach just jumping up. when you add in the wallrun, you should easily be able to muscle up with the momentum. with training you wont be much slower on a wall you can only fingertip.

I've never measured, but I'd estimate fifty-eight million feet, maybe fifty-nine on a good day (with strong coffee)
