2010 Chicago Colossal Jam (June 25-27)

Talked it through with some of the Chicago guys, and from what I saw browsing through here, this weekend is free.

So yeah, prepare for an epic weekend in Chicago on those days.  More information will come as the date comes closer and we figure it out, I just figured it'd be nice to snag this weekend before someone beat us to it.

Schedule (Rough outline)
--------------------------------------
FRIDAY
-Small Jam at Oz Park (Around 7 pm)

SATURDAY - UIC
-Meet at the field at the intersection of Halsted and Harrison (10 am)
-Warmup (10:30)
-Jam (11)
-Lunch (Around 1)
-Resume Jam (Around 2)

SUNDAY - Downtown Chicago
-Vietnam Memorial - State and Whacker (10 am)
-Warmup (10:30)
-Begin Jam (11)
This is where the jam will differ from the other colossal jams, from here we will travel down the riverfront as usual, then continue through to grant park and near the field museum.  More detailed schedule for Sunday should be coming soonish.

I believe last year there was about 120+ there on the Saturday. I will def. be making it there again this year :p.

There were roughly 150 people last year, and our biggest local jam had about 70, so it should be pretty big.  We'll be moving from place to place training, but we'll probably have some workshops set up as well.  We've still got a lot of planning left to do for this.

Last year, if you recall, all of the Michigan folk including I came a day early and left a day later. We were wondering if that'd still be able to happen, but than again you guys have to figure out housing and such. I'm not sure if Cloud(who housed us) will be attending or even in that same duplex as last year. So we would be thankful if you can maybe get housing info on if we will be able to make our arrival and departure the same as last years. When time comes :p. Thanks!  :D

Sadly, Cloud no longer lives in Illinois with us anymore  :'( so chances are he won't be housing people.  I live in the suburbs and I might be able to house, but I'll have to check my schedule and stuff.  I think there were quite a few people that were willing to house people last year and there are some newer practitioners that have started since last year that live in the city and are VERY involved with the community so I'm guessing they'd be willing to.  I think as summer nears more people will be volunteering to house.  I'm sure we'll have no problem getting you guys set up somewhere.

Yeah, housing is one of the things we're still working on. Though, when I suggested it on the chicago parkur forums, quite a few people said they could put some people up for the weekend, and I think Alex said he could do the same thing he did for housing last year.  I'll get the details up here as soon as it's finalized.
