According to a recent IQ test I gave online, I'm supposed to have an IQ of 148.
But reading through this thread I'm beginning to feel pretty stupid indeed - all your discussions about 'subjectivity' and 'objectivity' and 'proof of existence' are going totally over over my head. So I'm beginning to feel either the IQ test I was administered was bogus (more likely) or that everyone arguing on those points above probably have IQs in the range of 270-300 something (heck, even DaVinci wasn't that smart!). I didn't even bother reading the erm, discussions, my eyes were just randomly staring into the space on my monitor registering a smart word here or a smart word there till I decided it was all too smart for my level of comprehension.
It's ironic the title of the thread is 'Intelligent Discussion', isn't it?
Andy, only you and one other person somewhere in this thread have actually come close to making sense. I've also been very disappoint in several posts and in general the thread.
Thinking we need personal moderation, a CALL for it nonetheless, is definitely not necessary in my opinion. Have any of you seen the moments where one person made an illogical argument, or posted with no grammar at all? The were reamed or corrected (Depending on their tone) VERY quickly. Not to mention that anything that equates to a flame war on this forum is what an intelligent discussion would be on any other forum. (At least the ones I've been too)
I have yet to see someone called names or empirically insulted. Not ONCE have I seen a REAL flame war on these forums, the grammar is very generally beautiful and functional, and the people are smarter than your average bears. To be honest, I fully believe just two or three mods could keep this place in tip-top condition EASILY.
And while I'm on mods... How many times have the mods had to ban anybody? How many times have they had to lock threads? I've seen forums where the entire first page on a sub-forum were almost all locked because of the level of ridiculousness they reached in a short period of time.
Ah well, I'm done with my rant.
Totally agree with Spencer's post here, the only post in this thread that I could make head or tail of.
