Fayetteville Area
« on: February 18, 2010, 11:07:48 AM »
I'm looking for some good spots to do some parkour in the area.

Anyone have any recommended places for a newbie to parkour?

I'd prefer some places I could work on small vaults, safe precision jumps and some cat leaps.

Square is where I started. Go and explore on your own though. That is half the fun right there.
Aren't we all running?

You guys still meeting to do some pk?

Let me know when and where so I can try to arrange for it. If you guys don't mind an out of shape beginner slowing you down once or twice a week, that is.

We use the square and Dickson - I recently heard about a place in Fayetteville, I think it was called UBC Church, I don't know... Near Dickson I think. You might look for that. Oh and up at the mall there is a place called Gymnastic Joes (not the best place ever) but for five bucks you get an hour of freetime during which you can practice flips and the like. I think it 8-9 PM Wednesdays.

And hey Jesse. Haha.

I forgot, if you are looking around the Springdale area, there isn't much, but we us J.B. Hunt Park. It's good for learning jumps, rolls, flips, and vaults over distance.

8-9 on wednesdays?

I might check that out.

I do gymnastics already on Thursdays, and hopefully Tuesdays as well here soon.

I just wanted to tell you that you were right about UBC church over by Dickson. It is great. I just hopped the fence at the playground and felt like I had hit the jackpot.

I realize I am WAY late to this but I'm wanting to start training in parkour and am hoping I can find a group to train with. I'm completely inexperienced but eager to learn. Hopefully someone reads this. I'm in the Fayetteville or Rogers area depending on when you train. Just reply here or pm me. Thanks
