Stairs
« on: February 06, 2010, 03:27:23 PM »
Hey there.

Does anyone know if there's an alternate, faster method to going up / down stairs besides jumping, climbing over the side, or running? There has to be, but I've never seen anyone do any better than myself. Any fancy stair rolls or something? :P

Haha, nice, but I'm talking about a more in-general sort of thing. For example, if you're walking down a flight of stairs that is a mile wide on both sides, with a mile high walls on each side, how would you best walk down the stairs, or get back to the top?

Oh, so you mean like something faster than running up the steps? Like if a mile long, straight set of stairs going up the sky, how do you go down or up faster?

skipping steps

i usually skip one to three going up and one or two going down (depending on how much room i have and how fast i feel like going)

if theirs railings within arms length (like one on each side or walls or something) then you can grab each side and push yourself up/down them (up is a lot harder, lol)

Wall runs are great for getting down and up stairs. Same with skipping a few, and rail sliding.

For wall running, usually a simple 2 step works well. It gets you over a great amount of stairs. Wall running is the best way of getting down stairs with a wall from my perspective.

Skipping stairs, going up, I just run full speed, skip about 2 or 3, and repeat. For going down, I need to be a bit more careful, and only skip about 2.

Rail sliding is also magnificent. If there is a rail by the stairs, which a lot of stairs do, just sit and slide down. ;)

Right now, I kong up 4 steps at a time comfortably. That's the same amount I can just skip if I run up, and it's faster. Use the kong only if your legs get tired.
