Sup Connecticut (newbie, just need help getting started)
« on: January 22, 2010, 12:40:19 PM »
I'm new to parkour, however I am coming into the sport physically fit.

Any really nice spots to practice in CT?

What do you do at a "Jam"?

Are there any groups out there that practice as a team?

Thanks in advance for any tips/advice ;D

hey! good to see other traceurs from Connecticut. Where in CT are you from? There are a number of other guys on the forum from CT, so if you ask around there might be others in your area. A Jam is when a group of traceurs meet up to train. Hope that helped. Peace.

This board isn't really that active for new england guys, I'd check out new england parkour. I think new haven has some really good spots but you should definitely check out nepk.

hey guys, I'll be moving to the Groton / New London area sometime in the near future and was wondering what the parkour scene is like in CT. I'm from SC were I've trained for close to 4 years and have been an active member of Overflux Southeast Parkour. Also, I lived a year in Houston, TX where I trained with Houston Parkour and TXPK.

Hey, Hector. I'm Jake. I live in Stratford as well. I usually hang around the Public Library. While there isn't much places to do Parkour, I've been making do with what I have. Since I am banned from doing Parkour at the library (or else, Quote, "severe legal action will be taken place." End quote.) When it closes the back is free to train.

I wouldn't say 'great'. I'd say teetering on mediocrity.

I'm going to pretend that you didn't mention that.

Best Parkour spots in CT:

Fairfield
Stratford (barely but you gotta look hard, trust me I live there)
Bridgeport (downtown...if you can pull it off)
Milford
Norwalk
and Trumbull
