I would like to add a side note from someone who has taken French courses throughout high school. In the French language, gender rules for nouns are much more rigorous than in the English language. Here's a simple example:
http://french.lovetoknow.com/Free_French_Noun_Gender_List
Basically, all nouns have gender rules that affect the rest of the sentence with many exceptions to the basic rules. So it makes sense (at least in French) to have both traceur and traceuse. I know that this has been said already, but I just wanted to elaborate to stress the point.
I still kinda agree that in the United States we have the option of using it however we want.

The thing is that Traceur is actualy misspelling anyways, the oreginal name of the David Belles second team was les tracers with tracers being borrowed straight from english. Their is no strong logic behind have different terms is just a matter of preference. Stephane vigroux has indicated he finds it odd and limiting that the community has adopted what was orginal a team name, we don't all call ourselves Yamakasi. The names only matter so far as how effectively the communicate if you ask me. If everyone calls female parkour practioners traceuse thats fine with me.
I shall not fear, fear is the mind killer the little death that precedes total obliteration

I will face my fear, I will let it pass over and through me and were it is gone, I will turn the inner eye and see its path, and only I will remain.
