Need help with wallspins
« on: August 29, 2006, 02:57:29 PM »
whats up, ive been doing pk for a couple of months, and just today i got phyched up enough and i decided to try a wallspin,(yes, it isnt parkour,i know, it just looked fun) so ive done it a couple dozen times or so, and im really close, but when i land,(heres the problem) i cant get enough hight, when i land im facing the wall completely, and i go almost directly to my knees and fall sideways. ive watched like 6 tutorials and i understand the move completely, but i just cant do it. how do u get enough hight? is it like a complete sideflip or do u turn off at the last minute? i need some help, so can u give me some pointers, i'd appreciate it if ud help me out with this. thanks again. ;D

Well now that you mostly have it, the only tip is to keep practicing.

Remember to keep your legs tucked to your body since that will help you rotate faster.

I just learned a palmspin.  How much harder is a wallspin?  I have no idea how to learn a wallspin.  Should I just go for it and hope for the best?  Thanks.

when you first jump into the wall spin do you jump off both feet or just the one? and how high do you actually jump?
"if all your friends jumped off a cliff would you do it too" - my mom "as long as i get a strong safety roll out im up for it" - me.

Hey Entity, you should wait till you perfect the palm spin before you try a wallspin, if you don't you could end up getting seriously injured. the best advice I can give you is to find a picnic table and put it at a slight incline and keep increasing it untill you get it at a 90 degree angle. Then try it against a real wall in slow motion, place one hand on the wall and one on the ground and practice that way. Then you will be ready to do it against a wall in fast motion, BUT when you do it, make sure you tuck tight and push off your legs so you get alot of  height so you don't smash your ankles. Basically run at it, jump and place your hands on the wall and then do a palm spin and make sure you look to where you want to land. Good Luck and God Bless.
