@ Dustin: Awesome Basshunter song. I am listening to "Einstien" by Tech N9ne.
“Run your fingers through my soul. For once, just once, feel exactly what I feel, believe what I believe, perceive as I perceive, look, experience, examine, and for once; just once, understand."

This Is How We Do It - Montell Jordan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hiUuL5uTKc

Let's flip the track, bring the old school back.

I WISH. I live in the south, everyone here listens to bullshit like Lil Wayne or Three Six Mafia. It's so stupid. They have no point to their lyrics. It's crap. Hip Hop is an art and these guys disgrace it with their bullshit.

Since I'm going to see Týr and Korpiklaani together on the 16th, I've been listening to the entire Korpiklaani discography on repeat while I'm at work.  :)

OOOO:!!!

Where have you been all my life? For so long, I've been the only one here listening to Finnish Folk Metal. I LOVE Korpiklaani!  ;D  Vodka off their new CD cracks me up, but Korven Kuningas is still my favorite album for sure.

Seriously, you just made my f#cking day.

And aren't you in luck... they are playing in Tempe, AZ at Club Red on the 25th of this month.
I'd have to say that Korven Kuningas is my favorite as well, though I like many songs off of every CD they have.
I've been listening to Folk Metal for many years now.  My three favorites are Týr, Eluveitie, and Korpiklaani.  I've seen Týr all three times they've been in the US, Eluveitie all three times they've been in the US, and the upcoming show on the 16th will be my first for Korpiklaani (this is only their second time in the US) and fourth for Týr.
I've gotten in pretty good with several members of all three bands, drank mead before and after shows with Týr and Eluveitie, been on the tour buses, and regularly talk online with all of the members of Týr, 4 members of Eluveitie, and recently have been talking a good bit with Jonne Järvelä of Korpiklaani.  I'm on the guest list for photographing the upcoming show, so when I post the photos online, I'll be sure to send you a link. :)

Yeah, I've been into Folk Metal for maybe 3 years or so. What I've heard from Týr was pretty decent, but I wasn't too blown away. Haven't heard anything from Eluveitie (any recommendations?). I guess I've been leaning more towards Battle Metal type music for a while--Ensiferum, Wintersun, Turisas etc, but I will always love Korpiklaani. And trust me, I'm going to the Tempe show  ;D

Hahaha, brag much?  :P jk, that's pretty cool that you're friends with the band members. I've spoken with the members of Finntroll a few times, but I definitely wouldn't say it's a regular occurrence. Talking to Jonne, or any of the Korpiklaani guys would be unbelievable.

And yes, send me that link when you has it  :)

Nah, not bragging... more or less just commenting on how down-to-earth these bands are.  They all seem very aware that it is the fans that drive their careers, and they are very friendly and open to talking with as many of them as possible.  I do like the Battle Metal type bands as well.  My first real Folk Metal show I saw was Paganfest USA (Týr, Eluveitie, Turisas, and Ensiferum)... GREAT show.
If I were to suggest anything by Eluveitie, it would have to be their "Slania" CD... amazing mix of folk instruments with Metal.  Alestorm is another great band, though they're typically classified as Pirate Metal... a bunch of very fun Scottish guys there.  A friend of mine talks regularly with Vreth (vocals) of Finntroll, though I've yet to see them.  They're coming around very soon, so I may have to remedy that.

Yeah, I gotcha. I've only ever talked to Trollhorn myself (keyboards). But yeah, they're all great guys, I really can't wait for the show comin up; you're gonna have to tell me how badass it is after you go.

You two are awesome. Eluveitie and Korpiklaani? Kickass! Love Eluveitie's use of the Gaulish language. AMAZING. 'Specially coupled with Anna's voice. But, that's not what I'm listening to. I'm feeling a bit anarchistic, and am listening to "City" - Hollywood Undead.

I found out today that the high school I went to is closing at the end of the year. It joins my grade school, which is also closing within a year or two. I am officially an educational orphan. In their honor, I'm listening to this song...
