@Gabe: Soundgarden is absolutely amazing. Chris Cornell has a great voice, very distinct. I definitely think he really completed that group, too bad they separated. With that said, the entire band was musically talented by far.
Black Hole Sun (Solo Acoustic)Most definitely. I have a distinct love of grunge and hard rock, I can't explain it. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Temple of the Dog (if you haven't heard their stuff find it NOW, Cornell is the singer), Melvins, The U-Men...great stuff.
Now a change of pace. There is a manga/anime series which I discovered early last year that quickly took it's place in my top 3 favorites list. It's called
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad. It's about a young up-and-coming Japanese rock band and the things they go through on their musical journey. Needless to say, all of the music is effing incredible, even when you realize how bad the accent is on the Japanese voice actors singing. Regardless though, this song (a cover of The Beatles) is definitely a high point of the series. If you like it, look up "Moon on the Water", original or dubbed version. THAT one is unbelievable.
