I just thought of doing burpees like normal except at the end instead of doing just a normal jump you do a backflip!  That would be a really good workout.

I think it'd be too complicated. Also when one gets tired after several burpees I think there is a very fair chance of bailing the backflip. And not enough people are able to backflip anyway  . However, if you're really good at backflips you might alter the WOD's that include burpees  .

That would be cool, if only I don't chicken out on the backflip, because that's all I do whenever I want to do it. But once I get it, I'm trying that out. Good idea, Sat Santokh.

I'm down to try  Anywho, gear that guy has a powerful looking back tuck. It's hard to tell from the angle butit looks as if he doesn't actually tuck much, looks like it all comes from his jump and arms. I likey.

Great idea, I've actually considered this too .  Since I can only throw about 5 or 6 in a row with good/decent form I've never actually tried it, since most brupee workouts call for more.  Maybe we can try some and spot each other at the next jam.

His form isn't actually that bad. Besides the fact that he doesn't get full extension with his arms (only slightly) and initiates the flip a bit early by throwing his head back, it wasn't all that bad. I've seen a lot worse before. He could probably only get another 6-12 inches out of it if he did it correctly though so it's not like it would be a huge improvement (considering his is already relatively high enough for him to land out of easily).

I should try this out sometime. Back tucks are actually a good core workout as it forces you to contract your abs very quickly to get a fast rotation out of your back tuck.

Wow. I mean, I can do back tucks like cake, but I don't know if I had the endurance to do that many...

6 -12 inches on a back tuck is a huge improvement. if my verticle is 12 greater than what it is now than i could throw double no sweat.   i've been tricking and doing gymnastics for quite some time and i still haven't improved 12 inches on my back tuck.
