Parkour in Ocala
« on: December 13, 2009, 05:43:42 PM »
(Yes, I am aware there are topics already in ocala but there litterally a year old.)

Hey me and my friend have been practicing parkour here in Ocala for a bout 3 years now and we really need to 'branch out' we've been planning to go to gainsville bur so far nothings happened, I was just wondering if anyone here does parkour, maybe we can set up a group, get some jams going and possibly make Ocala a pretty big parkour community (even if there arent mant hot-spots, if there is please tell me!)

I'm actually in Ocala until January 1st. I live in Gainesville now, but I'm from Belleview. Do you have AIM? Maybe we can set up a training day.

Are you going to the Orlando Jam?

Yeah Ocala is a really crappy town for PK but non the less we have to train some how. Well me and my fellow Traceur friends have begun starting OFR, (Ocala Free Running) but I thin were gonna change it to OFRPK (Ocala Free Running and Parkour) But we"ll see how that comes, we usually train every saturday at downtown (the historic section) but I"ll keep you informed if you care to show up, and maybe join our team.

There is a chance that my Dad and I will be moving down to Ocala this summer. All depends on if he gets the job that he is lookig into. If he does then I will definitely get in touch with you guys. I was afraid that if we moved down there that my training would be limited. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.
Warning: Above user has been prone to drawn-out and sometimes heated debates on subjects such as the difference between parkour and freerunning. By the way, they aren't the same. Claim so at your own risk.

Yeah there isnt much here, but my team and I have been trying to set up a trip to Gainsville and maybe PK with some of the guys up at UF and the campus. I thought there were hardly any traceurs here in Ocala but Ive actually found a good amount of people over the past few months. But if you guys care to come train with us, we should start an official Ocala team. So far me and the other traceurs I know have set up Ocala Free Running, as our team, but to make it more 'legit' we would be extremly grateful if you guys would join and maybe we can get Parkour big here in Ocala. To parkourfreak96, I'll deffinately message you or reply to this board next time we train, which will probably be this saturday but were still undecided.

I'll deffinately let you know if we go on a trip to gainsville Nfiltr8. But dont worry, we dont judge, and Ive been doing parkour for 2 years so I think we could help you out on a few techniques. So we should plan to do it this saturday, if your available, there well be 3 of us there im pretty sure of but if you want to send me your cell number over a message, (not on here for obviouse reasons haha  :P ) then i could text you in case any last minute plans pop up. But if you dont want to then I understand, I wouldnt give my number to a kid I havent met before haha.

I'm actually heading a group of 30+ in Gainesville. Our page on FB is http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=272241151056&ref=ts

We post our training dates and other stuff there. We're actually having a training session this Saturday at Noon at Turlington, by the potato statue.

Anyone from Ocala is welcome to join us.
